I would like to take the family to a cinema at Christmas. Elsewhere on the site someone has recommeded Celebration.
Has anyone else been to a cinema in Orlando and can recommend them or not- are there any really luxurious ones?

There are 4 major multi-screen venues all of which are very good.

1. AMC Pleasure Island 24 Theatre Complex in Downtown Disney

2. Universal Cineplex, the ultra high-tech venue with 20 screens at City Walk

3. The Muvico Cinema Complex with 21 screens at Pointe Orlando

4. Cinemark at Festival Bay on I-drive with 20-odd screens.

We watched Bugs Life back in 98/99 at the AMC theatre, DTD and it was very nice.
Pretty much the same as any multi-plex in this country to be honest.

We went to the Downtown Disney cinema in June and it was great. Big comfy armchair seats and lots of room - perfect [msnsmile]

We went to the cinema at Citywalk, comfortable large seats with good leg room.

The same could also be said for the cinema at Pointe Orlando.

Does anyone know if there are cinemas in Orlando where you can order food and you sit in really nice chairs with a small table in the middle? You also get given a little box that has a button you press if you want anything else during the movie, so you don't have to get up and disturb everyone. I went to one of these in Dallas and it was very popular!

I have never been to a bad movie theatre in Orlando but I think I favour the Down Town Disney one.

Check the muvico web site for which film is on at the Imax screen at pointe21. Sometimes they actually have a true imax film!

There is a deal at universal/citywalk at the moment, $20.00 for a dinner/lunch and cinema ticket. We used this to dine at jimmy buffet's and catch "the forgotten" at the citywalk multiplex.

Hopefully it'll still be on offer by Xmas.

At any given time, there will be quite a few of these 'Movie-Meal Deals' about. Movico at Pointe Orlando also seems to indulge in such offers regularly.
