hi, i just read that there will be baggage handler strikes over the weekend.
has anyone been going when there has been one, do you know how this will affect me, i am going on sat from gatwick with Air satlanta(Excel airways) it says their handlers are walking out.
oh dear what do i do. will this mean we cant fly out?

I'd advise phoning the airline and asking as they would be best placed to advise you on whether they are going to be affected or not.

They have been having these for a few weeks now. They use their Managers to do the work no flights have been cancelled to date. Check with the airline to be sure though..

We flew into Gatwick with Delta on the morning of the first strike last month. Landed at 11.05 and by the time we reached baggage reclaim 6 of our 8 bags had already been taken off the belt by the staff (managers?) and were waiting for us! Never seen the baggage reclaim area so empty and we were out the airport by 11.25. Give me a strike every time!
