Monday 4th October

Went to Siesta Key – another of my favourite spots. I always think that walking along the beach is like being in a postcard…
After working up an appetite went for breakfast at the Broken Egg – sat outside drinking endless cups of coffee. [msntongue]
Headed back to the beach for another long stroll, a paddle in the Gulf and an ice cream.

Can't remember where we ate tonight - but I know I wouldn't have missed a meal
Oh yes - I do remember, another chinese. A buffet this time somewhere along US41 followed by a look around Books-a-Million and Supermarket of Shoes & Target. Exciting stuff….

Then another gathering on the lanai…..

Tuesday 5th October

Another lazy morning by the pool - I think you all know my now I'm a sun worshipper (when I'm not shopping or eating).
[8D] [8D] Can anyone find a sunbathing icon for me?

As the plan was to go back to the outlets at Ellenton tonight we went out for lunch at Hemingway's at St. Armands followed by a walk along the beach. On the drive back stopped to watch the boats out on the bay and the fishermen. So peaceful and relaxing.

Off to Ellenton to but everything I wanted to buy last time but didn't. Just getting into full flow when we had an almighty thunderstorm. It was absolutely lashing down and it was almost a case of swimming from store to store! What a good excuse to spend ages trying things on. After all - a changing room was so much safer than being outside in the lightening…

Spent up - we set off home. This took about four times longer than it should due to the rain and several accidents. When we got home everywhere was completey dry - but the storm followed us so we enjoyed it all over again while eating pizza and drinking beer [beer] [beer]

Wednesday 6th October & Thursday 7th October

Siesta for breakfast both mornings.
Spent some time in Siesta Village, beach walking, watching people sar more energetic than me playing tennis & volley ball and of course sunbathing!!!!! [sporty] [sporty] Although Tursday turned out to be rather cloudy - but still hot & dry.

Ate at Red Lobster on Wednesday & Outback on Thursday - Wednesday's meal was followed by one or two ?? drinks. Thursday night was that sad time when we had to pack for the trip home. [msncry] [msncry]

Friday 8th October

Early start to drive to check in at Downtown Disney. Got there about 10.30 to find only a dozen or so people in line.

Glad to be rid of the suitcases we decided that as we'd enjoyed our first trip to Celebration so much we would go there again.
Had a lovely lunch in the Tavern.
Then I had a real dilema - should I wander round the stores for some last minute spending or should I catch the last few rays of sun????
Couldn't choose so had a quick look round a couple of stores and managed to spend an amount of money totally disproportionate to the amount of time. A trick I'm far too good at….
Then spent a blissful couple of hours sat in a rocking chair by the lake soaking up the sun [msncool]

Back to earth with a bump when I returned the car to Dollar - they told me there would be a charge as I was late returning the car. As I ahd collected the car at approx 6.30pm and it was not yet 6.00pm I couldn't understand why. Despite me having the paperwork showing pick-up time at 6.30 they insisted I was late. [msnmad] By now I was causing quite a hold up and I think that's the only reason they decided to give in. I'm going to check my credit card statement with extra care to make sure they have stuck to their word.

Flight left on time - and I managed to sleep all the way home. [zzz]

As you have read - we did no Parks at all this trip. No trips to Fort Myers or Naples. In fact we did very little. Sunbathing, shopping socialising and eating seems to sum it up. But hey that's what we went for….

So in summary

Lowlights - having to come home…[msncry] [msncry]

Highlights - all of it. But especially finding the Cheesecake Factory, finding Celebration, lots of sunshine (after Jeanne) and

Hi Julie

Glad to hear that Jeanne didn't spoil your holiday too much.
The car hire problem is something I'll have to watch out for!
