Golden Coral's provide great value, all you can eat buffet food in a no frills but clean family environment. For about $10, you can enjoy a wide variety of foods from steak, to Pizza and delicious sweets - I love the Banana pud !. Watch out for regular theme nights when there are specials on. Soft drinks are also provided on an all you can drink basis, so if you've worked up an appetite with a tough day at the parks, and you don't want to splash out on a fancy meal they make a great place to refuel. Better than Ponderosa, Sizzlers etc etc in my opinion.

There are always 10% discount vouchers fro Golden Coral's in the free magazines, so don't forget to cut them out and use them.

Also Senior Citizens get a free drink with their meals, also at Golden Corrall they give you coffee at the end of your meal even if you had a soft drink with your meal, and its the only all you can eat steak that I know.

there used to be a locals booklet that gave you a better deal than the 10% off it was about$6.95 Lunch $7.95 Dinner but I could not find it on the last trip in December I will look again Next Week

always look on the bright side

We love Golden Coral for breakfast, its about $1 more than others but its worth it for the Omelettes, cooked to order with what ever fillings you want ! Fresh Orange Juice is free, pay for tea and coffee but only once free refills.

The one we use is just west of Splendid China on the 192

Its umy...

The kids would stay there all day if we let them !!

If you want to economise even more, go at lunch time, we found there was not a lot of difference in the choice of food, and there was more than enough for everyone, but the buffet is only $5.99. It's better value than those where you have to pay something like $8.99 for your entree then add on the cost of the buffet.
You forgot to tell Rob about the fresh bakery with a continuous supply of fresh muffins, rolls and pizza, and the "real" ice-cream machine the kids love and all the toppings, and the salad bar (including fresh fruits). Are you drooling yet, Rob?

Is it better than The Ponderosa! I've really gone off The Ponderosa and don't think we'll be back!

We know of 3 Golden Coral Restaurants;
1. International Drive, corner of Sand Lake Road
2. 192 near Splendid China
3. Lake Buena Vista area, near Little Lake Bryan.
They are great food and value.

My Mum & Dad would recommend the one near Splendid China - they went back several times in December/January and thought it was excellent value.

we went to one along the other end of the 192 (near Vine Street) and it wasn't as good as our usual near Splendid China. Like everywhere else though it's only as good as the chefs on duty that day, another day, even another time may be just as good.

If you want to go to Golden Corral, but want it a bit quieter than the one by Splendid China, go further up on the 192 by Home Depot.

Less hussle and bussle, and more selection on buffet, better service, and the restrooms were cleaner.

They do a Steak all you can eat buffet every evening now, plus all the usual selection as well, and much to the delight of the boys CHIPS/FRIES on the buffet.

I think its the one Steph went to, but it was great, we went twice. Must have been a good Chef that day.

Yes OB it is much better than Ponderosa. The food is much fresher and they bake every 15 minutes too. We usually go to the Splendid China one and have a late breakfast which then fills us until early evening.

Will try the lunch buffet next time we go:)

The other advantage over the Ponderosa is that you get an empty plate and help yourself when you enter(and a stackof empty plates for your other courses) but at the Ponderosa you have to order an entree and wait for that to be cooked before you start, and because the entree (maybe burger and chips etc )is quite large it doesn't seem so enjoyable as having little bits of lots of tastes.

Steph, we went to Ponderosa the other night for supper and you can start eating as soon as you arrive from the salad bar! Then return to the buffet whenever you like and also to get your dessert.

The trouble we found though Blott is that you know you've still got a plateful arriving soon so it tends to take the edge off your appetite, we also like the fact that there is so much more than salad, I lke the meat loaf and mash, it's nice to be able to have a meal with vegetables and gravy rather than chips or salad all the time. The entree at the Ponderosa is more than enough for us usually.

Turn right out of Indian Point, turn right again into Siesta Lago and then right again onto the 192. The Golden Corral is on the left side of the 192, past Osceola Square Mall and almost slap bang in front of Home Depot.

Have a great trip!

It makes me chuckle to hear all the talk of food. We are just the same. When we arrive we start looking through all the coupon books and cut them all out and then prioritise where we go first. I must admit Golden Corrall is our favourite buffet. Carrabbas and Outback for a bit more upmarket are second and third.

Babblin Boo, I totally agree about the veg. I hate chips and burgers and it is nice to have a choice and to be fair, if you can't find something you like at GC, you are hard to please.;)

We can vouch for the Golden Corral having used it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. We thought it was much better than Ponderosa, more choice and delicious steaks and pot-roast! The deserts are yummy too!

One word of advice if you are eating there a lot - remember to take shorts/slacks/skirts with elasticated waists - you might need them !!! [msnwink]

Thanks to Steph we ate there for the first time and it was great where else can you stuff yourself stupid for $10 my youngest who is the fussiest eater I know, loved it because he ate only the things he liked so did`nt leave a thing on his plate even though one night he just ate slices of pizza, peas and those salty crackers. Jack got a few strange looks that night. I would reccommend the pot roast mashed spud real gravey and veg (sitting at PC drooling like Homer Simpson)[msnsmile2]

We tried this twice to be sure the first time wasn't just one of those things!, steak was either extremely rare and chewy or over done and bone dry, there were chicken legs the 1st visit but only dry chewy chicken strips in rice the 2nd. Kids couldn't eat the cheeseburgers because they were extremely greasy.

Quite a large selection of veg & side dishes but lots of things that weren't labelled!.

Can't comment on the lunch or dinner menus but for breakfast we would highly recommend it we went to the one near the home depot

We tried the one near the Mall of Millenia on our last trip and it was probably the best we've been too, there was even more variety on the menu and obviously the building was new although in the same style as the others. As with any restaurant the meals are only as good as the chef on the day.

when we were over in October, we went into the Golden Corral at about 4 and were charged the lunch time rate, but the evening dinner was already being put out, so got the steak as well, and because it was quiet the chef actually cooked to order, so I had mine WELL DONE and Keith had his Medium. The bread rolls fresh from the oven are FAB.

If you haven't been give it a go, just pick your time, try not to go when it is jam packed.
