I sent it to our villa owner, hoping it would make her feel a bit better about her little bits of damage, [msnwink]

Glad Big Mack and family, also Kirstielou and family came through ok and had a good holiday.[msnsmile2]

This also happened in Frances, we called out the builder, who blamed it all on the hurricane, and we called in a carpet company who put giant fans in to dry it out, and chemicals to stop the mold, the base boards around the house had also come away from the walls, but the mystery is why it came up through the inner closet floor, 20 foot away from the walls, my guess is its the water table, not being able to hold all the water from the 3 hurricanes on it, and finding its way through the floor, we spent about $500 on the drying of the carpets, of course the stupid thing is its only 14 foot square, so would have only cost a couple of hundred, to replace.
The next time it happened while we where there last week in Jeanne, this time the builder did send round the carpet people and also a Sky Tech team that is writing a report on whats going on. we have yet to see that.
We managed to get everything together for the next guests that went in on the 9th.

chrizzy are you saying that the builders could be responsible for this??

It does seem strange that water was coming in from the floor!!

Your pictures Alan, brought home the real drama of that awful weather:( And to think the members of family using our place whinged when they stayed in ours during Jeanne (they lost power for about 10 hours, most of it over night!!) and that is all they had to deal with!!!
Best wishes Alan for the recovery project on your lovely home:)

Thank you all for your thoughts, the Builder, KB have yet to come up with the report on what happened, but the good news is we have guests in again, and they are non the wiser.

I think the Statewide report will be interesting...info is still being taken from owners from both small local custom home builders...and the bigger countrywide builders.......

I don't think this is just a KB problem....I know of one other large company who had the same trouble....I think they were named in the newspaper report....I can't remember who they were off the top of my head.....
