Hi Simon
Welcome to the forum! We were there in early April this year and it was lovely...high 70's to low 80's every day. We saw one small sprinkling of rain and it disappeared and the kids were back in the pool within minutes! Nice time of year to go not humid like high season, definately our favourite time. We didn't have pool heating and we found it absolutely fine. Have a lovely time! :D[8D]

We were in Orlando for April this year. The weather was fantastic - always warm during the day and still nice and warm in the evenings. My boys never changed out of shorts and t-shirts.
It is a great time of year for swimming - we did the water parks every day aswell as swimming in the villa pool every morning and evening. I think DH and I sat out every night on the pool deck having a quiet drink when the boys had gone to bed.
We did have the pool heating on when we arrived at the end of March but I switched it off after the first week as it wasn't ever coming on because the pool was already warm enough by itself. My DH hates cold water so for us to switch the heating off then believe me the water was warm.
We didn't have much rain although I think I remember a thunderstorm one night - there certainly wasn't any amount of rain to worry about. We will definitely be going again in April for 2006.

April is one of the best times to go and of course Easter is in March next year,so you should be good from the 2nd week on.
Pool heat is a difficult one;some of our guests book it for Aptil, others not.How warm do you like your pool?
We always tell our spring/autumn guests that they can decide when they get there, but it does take a couple of days to reach optimum heat.
We certainly did not need it in 2003 but it was unusually hot that year. For the sake of the little bit extra, why not book it and be comfortable.
Have a great time

When you go in April, make sure that you arrive at least 10 days after Easter so that the break crowds have thinned out. As has been said, Easter is in late March in 2005, but as we all know, is usually in early to mid April. As a rough guide, mid-April to mid-May is one of the best times to go, probably second only to going in October.
Thanks for the info so far, very helpful [clap]
we are looking to go 1st 2 wks april, is it really that busy?
went this may/june and were there for memorial day. This was the only day disney was over busy. Is it like that or just busy? (if this makes sense, over use of the word busy:D
thanks Simon

As said before, first two weeks of April will be fine for 2005 because of the early Easter break. But may not be the year after and so on.

I think most school holidaymakers will be going back 7th.8th/9th so start your holiday around that time if you can

I was in Florida last April and came back with a great tan! better than August, when it rained every single afternoon!!

We did Easter this year for nearly 3 weeks. Rained only once. Mid 80's every day, and down to mid 60's during the night. The best time of year we think. Pool heating required unless your a hardy sole.
We closed on our house at the end of April, beginning of May. The weather was lovely, warm but not sweltering, low humidity, and really pleasant to walk round in.
We had pool heat though - we always do, whatever time of year - one of a group of 'wimps' on the forum - had it on in Aug this year. But it is up to the individual as to what they can stand. There's definitely no 'right' answer!
Have a great time.
