View Full Version : Gyms
Does anyone know of any good gyms that will do a month by month membership; i.e. pay only for those month's that you use the facilities.
You can purchae a month's membership (minimum) at Celebration Fitness http://www.celebrationfitness.com It's next door to Celebration Hospital.

hehe has anyone ever see that picture of an american gym that has an escalator going up the front steps? Just saw this post and it reminded me[msntongue]
On Glenbrook we have a gym available at all times free of charge, and we get to use the tennis courts, volleyball etc. It's only available to homeowners or our guests.[sporty]

You don't know if they just do a single month's membership do you Blott? I surfed their site but it seems to suggest that they are more tailored to annual memberships (rather than just the odd single month each time we are in Florida). I've got to admit that their current promotion of $100 off the membership enrollment fee does put me off a bit. I'm kind of hoping to find a gym for just a month or two, not buy one outright. I do like the idea of it being next to the hospital. I wonder if they've fitted a connecting door yet? [msnsmile]
Dunno if this helps?
Inactive Membership Status
Upon submission of verification, any member in good standing may convert to inactive membership status, provided that he/she is temporarily relocated for work for a period of at least three consecutive months or has a written notice from a physician that they are unable to use the facility. Upon reactivation of the membership, normal monthly billing will proceed at the applicable rate. http://www.celebrationfitness.com/membership_policies.html
There's also an enquiries/comments page http://www.celebrationfitness.com/contact.php so if the above doesn't help, you just need to ask them presumably.
It does have a connecting door to the hospital BTW (always useful to know!). :)
thats what i was thinking Chris & Peter..[laugh][laugh][laugh]
we join Celebration everytime we go and wouldn't go anywhere else. Always join for a month and you need to buy a lock for the lockers.
What kind of costs do they run to Shelly? I sent them an enquiry to see if they could do just a monthly membership but haven't heard back from them yet.
Ta for the info.

Some developments(including ours) have a gym in the clubhouse.
These are free for guests to use throughout their stay
We join for a month - which is the minimum you can join for - it's wonderful everything is so clean, so much equipment, TVs everywhere, big white fluffy towels, toileteries and very friendly staff

I think Steve knows that but his community does not and he is trying to find a gym that HIS GUESTS can use!!!:D
Actually Lucy it's for me! I'm hoping to get 3 or 4 weeks over in Florida at the end of the year and I just want to get some exercise while I'm there. Maybe I'm a masochist (wonder if the forum software will beep that one??) but I really enjoy a couple of trips to a gym each week. I find it gives me tons of energy afterwards, which is ideal for tackling all the wonderful things to do in Orlando. Dare I also say that it takes away that feeling of guilt when having an extra large piece of key lime pie. After Blott suggested to try the key lime pie frozen I think I'm going to need all the de-guilt'ing I can get. [msntongue][msntongue]
