Someone recommended the Stone-cold ice cream parlour to us on our last visit. It's on the 192 at the Celebration junction (behind Chick-Fil-A and the garage). I have to say it is the best I've ever had, they make each ice-cream fresh each morning then mix them in front of you on a stone slab (hence the name) with whatever ingredients you want (fresh cake, chocolate, savouries - all sorts really).

A friend has subsequently told me that he saw a thing on CNN about them as when they opened in Times Square NY people queued around the block to get in! It was very quiet in the Kissimmee one as no one seems to know its there!

PS If you tip them they sing while they make it for you!

Yes Lucy it is on the entrance to the shopping bit at Celebration. To help you find it there is also a Joes Crab Shack, Chick-Fil-a, gas station..... Make sure you go there hungry! We forgot to warn you all that it is very cold inside!!!!!

Neil

we've talked before on the forum, where is Celebration in relation to Terra Verde?

Hi Elaine

From Terra Verde go north on Poinciana Blvd to the 192 junction and turn left along the 192, Celebration is on the left just before you get to the I4 - about 5-6 miles I guess.

Celebration itself is quite nice, it is a residential community with a nice little center to it around a lake and pleasant to walk around if you need a bank or post office. It always reminds me a bit of the Truman Show film though - if a leaf falls from a tree someone appears about 5 minutes later to sweep it up!

We went there last weekend. It was great and yes very cold inside. It is directly behind the crab shack in a new shopping area. They are one of the only places that are actually open in the new area.

We managed to find the Cold Stone Creamery on our last trip. The choice is so huge, that you could be there for hours making a decision. We thought they were very inventive with the singing, and doing it with great humour. We found that the singing started so that we WOULD give them a tip, and in the end we had to keep tipping them to make them stop!!! Great fun. :D

I never knew you could add so much to ice cream it takes an age just to decide what you fancy, as for Grandad he just wanted plain vanilla ice-cream nothing added, the look on the servers faces was a picture

"Don’t forget to stop by a store on Saturday, July 2 between 10:00 a.m. and noon, for free tasting samples of the July ice cream flavors.":(

Missed that one, will try and visit in November.

We tried the one at Celebration a couple of weeks ago, and it was delicious, but boy, are the portions HUGE. We got a small tub each but one between us would have been enough.

I noticed there is a new one opening up at the Orlando Square Mall, at the junction of Sand Lake and OBT. It was almost finished when we were there 2 weeks ago [msnwink]

Just to let everyone know all the shops in this area are now open. They have a mexican fast food place also, and a sub sandwich place and a chinese rest. Too much to choose from.
