If any of you fancy this dish (as I do - YUM![msntongue]), there are two places where it is really great. Lobster Bisque is very good at Fulton's Crab House but absolutely exquisite at Chefs de France at Epcot. Worth ordering if you are at either place for a meal.

Fulton's Crab House is a mock Riverboat restaurant in Downtown Disney Marketplace. A bit on the expensive side, but excellent.

IMHO, none of these are anywhere close for Lobster Bisque when compared to www.manuelsonthe28th.com.

In downtown Orlando on the 28th floor of the Bank of America Building. Floor to ceiling glass on all sides. Great views - food to die for.

Dave

I am going to give Manuel's a try next time I am over there in February. Has been rated No 1 restaurant in Central Florida by Zagat (widely regarded as the oracle on US restaurants) for many years now.

I must admit that we've never been to manuel's but looking at the reviews, it seems great! We'll keep it at the top of our agenda for the next visit.

Espiritdave, that link for the restaurant that you have provided seems defunct, but there are other reviews elsewhere of course.

You're right, it does now! Perhaps their server was down or something when I tried early this morning. Seems like a great place for an intimate dinner for two. A good place for a surprise outing for the wife on our next visit.[msnsmile]

If anybody is interested, the Zagat review of Manuel's is as follows:

"The big tab is justified by the $1m views. Huge windows on the 28th floor showcase Orlando's burgeoning downtown so that at sunset when the thunderstorms start rolling in this is the place you want to be especially given its impeccable staff, phenominal New American entrees and desserts that are works of art. ...it's the perfect place to propose. Still, despite the panorama, a few claim Manny Garcia's showpiece doesn't live up to expectations".
