Can anyone please tell me the names of the last 7 hurricanes to hit Florida as we are getting married next Saturday and thought it would be a good idea to use them for our table names at the wedding since there has been so many recently and we are also worried that we won't be able to go on our honeymoon.

Thanks

There have only been two hurricanes recently, Charley and Frances, to hit Florida. The last time one hurricane hit central Florida was 20 years ago and the last incidence of two was 40 years ago. In the laws of averages and probabilities, I don't think you should worry too much about your honeymoon as between 1900 - 1996, there have only been 54 hurricanes in Florida!

Bonnie hit the Panhandle, Charley and Frances we know all about so there you have three, dear old Ivan missed Florida and Alabama got him and Jeanne and Karl seem to have spun off to sea. Usually most hurricanes hit the Carolinas, Alabama, the southern tip of Florida around the Keys or head out to sea and it is highly unusual for one, never mind two to hit Central Florida. The last big one I remember before this year was in 1999 ( name Chrizzy??) and that was not too bad, just shut Disney for half a day and then before that of course Andrew in 1992 which hit the Miami area.

Floyd veered off the east coast eventually and didn't make landfall in central Florida but I think went to Carolina in the end?

Congratulations on your wedding, Claire. That's an amusing idea you have for the table names! Have fun!
