Hi there,

Just wondered if anyone has done either a helicopter tour in Orlando and what their experiences were or the new Segway tours at Epcot.

Cheers,

Hi Euan,
The Segway tour sounds interesting (I presume you're talking the two wheel vehicle?)
We're there in two weeks so might investigate that. Having just made a comment on another thread about leg ache, especially in Epcot, the Segway might be the ideal solution!!
Always fancied a try on one anyway. Epcot would seem a good place to try.

saw them last year at epcot and they were selling them at celebration

i thought all flights over disney had been stopped due to "you know"

will be nice to be wrong :)

Just looked at the Segway tours on the Disney website. They look like great fun as I too have always fancied a go on a Segway:

Wait til I tell hubby about the Segway tours, I think it could be another," What is your mother doing NOW moment!!" Tee Hee:DThey do look like fun[:p] As for Helicoptor rides over Disney, would love to take my daughter but I didn't think they were doing them at the moment[?]

Sound like fun until you multiply the price by 4= loads of money or US$320 for 4 people. You also have to be over 16 and in good health. Count me out for this one i think.

Why have they stopped. Was it down to the Hurricanes? They were doing them in May from the place on US192

I don't think they have allowed overflying Disney property since 9/11 - and don't dare ask about the runway that Disney have alongside the main road entrance to the MK (even if you need a site to crash land on![msnscared]).

BTW AP holders are currently getting a discount on the Segway tours.

The last person I heard to land there had to pay Disney a lot of money before they would let him arrange for the wings to be taken off the aircraft and the whole thing taken out by road. Or so I read somewhere [msnsad]

if you have a look at the website mentioned above the symbol in the middle is a person stood on a kind of two wheeled scooter

whats the price of a new one, did ask when i was there last but forgot, that might explain the cost of the tours [msnwink]

I went to ebay(.com) and put in segway - I am amazed at the number for sale - plus a look-a-like copy with four wheels ("doing away with the complexity and expense of Segway's gyroscopes" - isn't that the whole point of them!). There was one for sale in the UK, 9 days to go so plenty of time to get bidding (starting price £2700). Official website www.segway.com. So who is going to be the first Villa owner to offer them as part of the rental package?

Thanks for showing me the segway tour.

Only thing is the three kids want to try it, plus the biggest kid, (don't know if he would meet the weight allowance) Hope he doesn't see this.[}:)][msntongue]

We asked some time ago whether Epcot would be giving Segway lessons, rides or tours and we were told that the liability insurance for guests would not allow them to do so.

Looks like they changed their minds at $80 a pop !
