Fantastic diners - many dotted around. Great breakfast, whilst not as much choice as Ponderosa, I think far, far better quality and the fruit is definitely nicer. A bit more expensive though.

They often have 'theme' nights such as 'burger night' or 'seaford night' during the week and their deserts are to die for and you can buy a whole pie and take it back to the villa to devour later. Discounts for Seniors.

Don't forget to buy the all important Shoney Bear!

I'm afraid I have to disagree with you about Shoneys. Their theme nights are usually awful as the food choice and quality are not all that good. Most of it seems to have been lying around for ages getting completely dried up - well, it was in the one on the 192 we visited anyway which, incidentally, was almost empty at supper time.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experienc, like me with Outback, but the one on 192 by Lindfields has always been busy but with great service and if you spend the morning by the pool, head off around 2pm, stop and have a "burger Salad bar" there and then off to the parks, it sets you up until you need a "sundae fix" around 6ish!!

Hi, we went to a Shoney's last December in Kissimmee, worst meal we had in the whole 2 weeks (including my wife's attempts at cooking!). We arrived about 8pm, kids ordered a cheesburger/fries x 2 and 1 kids buffet, we had the buffet, cheeseburgers were very overcooked to the point of being almost solid, took 20 mins to get them replaced, after our 1st visit to the buffet for salad/soup/starters we went back for main courses and found most of the burgers/chicken etc. had vanished, as there were only 5 other people in the restaurant I was puzzled by this sudden lack of food but we got what we could and sat down waiting for it to be re-filled, after 15 mins I asked the waitress how long it would be "It's after 8:30 so we won't cooking any more" so we were left with a choice of salad, salad or salad!. It turns out that the staff had taken the food and were keeping it for their own meal after they closed. Never went to another Shoneys again.

Sizzlers was just the opposite, we arrived for a late (10:15am) breakfast on our last day, the waitress told us that breakfast would finish in about 45mins so did we still want it?, we said yes and enjoyed most of a good breakfast, when I took the kids to get there 2nd helpings they were busy clearing, I was just about to moan to my wife about it when she told me the manager had been to our table and asked if we wouldn't mind waiting 15 mins and then we could help ourselves to lunch as well at no charge!, extra free kids drinks appeared and he took kids and showed them all the new goodies there were to eat!, even though I told him the kids would probably waste most of it he insisted on them filling their plates with burgers, steaks, chicken and jacket potatoes, they enjoyed themselves so much we had to drag them out when it was time to leave :o) So 1st stop when we go back in December is Sizzlers for breakfast :o)
