Well worth giving it a try. You can do breakfast or evening meal-but you must book and have some ID-they are very strict who they let in at the gate-it's not one of the hotels that you can just wander in.
Having said that once in you are free to wander. Breakfast is about $13 and supper $20. Food is delicious. One of the park rangers is South African and she told me that is exactly what her mum would cook at home.
There's a nice area you can walk out onto to see the animals-you cannot see them from the buffet however.
I think a definite must do!
