not a techy but been thru the process several times now ,for my own avatar, just experimenting :)

as you can see its rather squashed it measurues 192 pixels on the height scale??? i think they like you to keep to 100 by 100

if you want it right click over the image and copy and paste the address into the avatar link on your profile, then click preview and then submit :)

Well

1) They probably don't want direct linking to their images because this would use their bandwidth.
Every time that picture is shown on a page it would be getting it from their server using their 'pipe' in.
So they probably code in this number on the end of the link that randomly changes to disuade people from direct linking.

2)It is indeed a free site, it says so on the box (well on the welcome page but you get my drift)

I think that covers all three questions, what's my prize? ;)

If you type in 'free animations' into any search engine, you should get loads to choose from but be aware that some places don't allow you to link to them and have software in place to stop you doing this.

If you let me know the URL of the one you choose, I'll put it on for you.
