Oct/Nov

This sounds worth a visit - it's the seventh year they have had this festival - anyone been?

Guests at Epcot's World Showcase can participate in cooking demonstrations and sample food and wine from around the world during this annualfestival.

One of the new things for this year is:

Eat to the Beat!” Concert Series with evening performances by popular entertainers on the America Gardens Stage:

Oct. 19-23 - The Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards
Oct. 24-28 - Mary Wilson of the Supremes
Oct. 29-Nov. 2 - Sister Sledge
Nov. 3-7 - Little Anthony and the Imperials
Nov. 8-12 - The 5th Dimension
Nov. 13-17 - Chubby Checker & the Wildcats.

Something for everyone:

More than 20 international food and wine marketplaces around World Showcase, with wine and appetizer-sized portions from $1-$4.50. New marketplaces this year showcasing the culture, foods and wines of their regions include “Discover Andalucia, Spain” and “Explore the Western Cape of South Africa.”

For beer lovers, there will be more than 20 national and international beers featured around World Showcase and a specialty beer garden near American Adventure. Returning for a second year in the American Adventure courtyard is “The History of Beer in America” presented by the Boston Beer Company, makers of Samuel Adams beer, with free seminars and tastings.

We've been a couple of times although not to one of the organised tastings. We just wander round from country to country and they have special booths with food and drink samples. Usually just a small taster so you can sample quite a few.
We particularly enjoy sampling the various beers as we wander round World Showcase in the evening.

Does this help Caroline?

Bordeaux Wine School, a one-day wine education program with lunch and wine school certificate presented upon completion, Nov. 7-10, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for $100 at Bistro de Paris in the France pavilion.

Go on, pamper yourself!

We are definitely going to see Mary Wilson and the Supremes when we are there - Mom's request - only fair as she has spent the last 15 years doing our things and now the grandchildren's requests! So we will let her have her fun for once!

How quickly do these things get booked up? Can you leave it until you arrive in Florida or do you need to book before you get there?

It's the first year they have done the concerts I think so not sure-hope Mom doesn't read this (sorry mom, thought you might!!) but not really fussed if we don't manage to get there - who is Mary Wilson anyway???

As far as I can see it is all included in Epcot Admission.

Who is Mary Wilson? My goodness girl, have some respect! One of the fabulous Supremes. When I was a very young girl they were the business. Great dance music and of course fronted by the wonderful Diana Ross. Motown at it's best - along with Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye etc. - don't tell me you've never heard of them either! This is taking me back to my early teens as I type!

I was only joking! I'm 36 but I still think Motown is just the tops! Went to see "Oh What a Night" in Birmingham on Thursday night - all 70s music. It got a 13minute standing ovation! or should I say dance! It was fantastic! Sheila (can't remember surname) out of the Three Degress starred in - amazing.

I'm definitely going to try and get to see the "Eat to the Beat" as I love Epcot and this will just add to a good day as always.
