I've seen this a hundred times, and I get the gist of what it means, but what exactly does PDQ stand for?

i would never have guessed, so what are the abbreviations relating to relatives, think there is dh and dd and a few others i am trying to decipher.

I think dh is dear hushand and dd is dear daughter. I know Fiona often refers to ED and YD meaninf eldest and yougest daughter.

Dead right Jacqui! Husband is frequently referred to as DB (dearly beloved, note the irony!) and DH (dear husband)depending on how much he has annoyed me or behaved like a [bad language filtered out]. Having grown up in a service environment and then worked for the BBC this is a way of life in our house.
