I saw an Expedia leaflet a few days ago about big savings on flights, but did not read the details. Might be worth checking their site just in case.

You could try the link at the top of the forum page?

Hi I am looking at Feb too. The best direct flight I could find is with Virgin @ £400 return booking with expedia. But Us airways look a good bet if you dint mind changing. I have also looked at travelcity direct but although the flights are "cheep" you have to take their car rental package wich is quite expensive and puts them in the same bracket as Virgin.
Now would I rather fly with Virgin or TCD? Tough choice!!:)

Hi,
miles plus money with Virgin in Feb: 2000 airmiles plus £255-20(incl taxes).Gatwick-Orlando direct.
Virgin credit card currently giving 3000 points when first used or 6000 if you pay the £80-00 to get 2 points for each pound spent( normally 1 pound per point if no annual charge.)
Remember if you are not a flying club member to get a current member to introduce you and they get points when you first fly. You can then introduce your family( adults only) straight away and get points for them when they first fly.
A friend has 13 members of his family going out in september. I introduced him and get 3000 points i think when he flies and as he introduced the rest of his family he gets 36000 plus the actual mileage which is 13,000. These figures may not be exactly correct because i cannot remember the introduction bonus or the distance but hopefully you get the drift.
DM me if you want more details.

If you are a family does all the points go on to my card i.e hubby me and son. I assumed this when I joined the flying club and they didn't say any different?

No . Children don't get points unless you are a gold member. Adults are all individual members.
Hope this link is ok www.virgin.com/flyingclub

So if I have 8670+ miles for one trip, go again in November to take it to about 17,000+ miles, still with me? Then if I get a virgin credit card, use it once I then get another 3000 miles added and have 20,000 miles ready for using on a companion flight?

Sounds too easy..:)

I have a feeling that is pretty much how hubby booked our April flights[^]You have to play smart these days to get certain deals don't you:(I would prefer a simple lotto win:)But...until then....[msntongue]

Brizzle,
thought I'd better add that there is a limited number of reward flights on each plane so the earlier you book the better and I believe thee is more per plane outside of peak periods. We managed to get a free companion flight over the xmas period by booking early so it can be done.

I have booked flights for the 2 of us for next March with Virgin and at the same time enroled with the Flying club. Do I know have to enrol Hubbie seperatly or will I get points for both of us?? If I have to enrole hubbie, can I do his on line and does it have an option for me to input that I nominated him and get points for this? Sorry to ask so many questoins but Im just trying to get my head around it all. ;)[8D];)

Hi Diane,
you need to enrol hubbie seperately as you will not get the points for both.. Go to www.virgin.com/milesmorefriends Send hubbie 1 of their e cards and he will enrol using this. You then get the bonus miles on his first qualifying flight ie next march.
Hope this helps

I to am looking at flight in Feb 12th - 17th. As I want to fly from cardiff the cheapest I have found is £410 or £ 390 from Birmingham. Not bad but not direct cardiff is the better bet as we leave MCO at 20.45 giving an extra day.

We paid £340 with Virgin this Feb. Manchester to Orlando.

All of the prices were sky high but I got this with Kenwood Travel. We got an upgrade to premium on the day-so was even more of a bargain[msnsmile2]

Hi Diane,
good for you. We just completed a car purchase which I'm pleased with.
Bought a people carrier from Virgin Cars (middle age approaching fast :D)
40,000 air miles for buying through Virgin Cars; 30,000 air miles on the 2 for every £1-00 spent; free companion flight for spending over £15,000-00 in a calendar year!!!

Big BIG smile on my face 70,000 points and a free companion flight.

I'm looking for flights in Feb 2005 also.

Best I've found so far is with Travel Bag from Heathrow £310 inc Tax per adult £230 inc tax per child.

This isn't direct,it's with United Airlines but only 1 change of aircraft.

Does anybody think this price is worth going for? And has anybody flown with UA?[msnscared]

We've flown United everytime we've been to the US, no problems at all - we usually fly via Dulles, Washington or O'Hare, Chicago.
