Don't want to start panic but have just read in the Daily Express
'Tropical storm Earl is gathering strength in the Atlantic Ocean and is expected to become an hurricane as it spins across the Caribbean sea toward western Cuba and the Gulf of Mexico.Weathermen fear it could touch land on Thursday'
We hope to arrive on Thursday is there any reports on US tv or any websites[?]
Hope everyone is safe and sound.

Hurricanes happen all the time during this period of the year - the chances of it going near Florida are remote - it could go anywhere at this stage. It's about once every 100 years you get a storm as bad a Charley in any one location.

I would not be too concerned about this at this stage - looks to me like the newspapers are short of a good story [msnsad]

Just been checking it out and at the moment it doesn't look like it's going anywhere near Florida

It has been downgraded to a tropical wave but they are keeping an eye on it incase it picks up again. Apparently it is heading towards Mexico.

I'm in Orlando now and things are getting back to normal. Most of the power should be restored by Thursday. All the tourist areas are open ... still lots of debris. Charley was the first hurricane since 1960 to hit Orlando. I for one hope it's another 44 years before another heads this way!
