is hard rock cafe in universal good value for money as i have 6 children all under 10.
It's good value - but only if you like that sort of thing :)
I go to the HRC wherever I go cos I collect the glasses!!
...btw - we have 3 kids under 10 and they always leave happy!
Its great value, we love the 'pig sandwich' it is great in all the HRC's we have been to.
I always stick to Appetizers and Cocktails here. They are so ENORMOUS!
Mine always loved it- appetizers only though...too much otherwise[:I]
Well, it isn't as cheap as some places, but the service and meal was fab! My daughter and I are avid tomato soup eaters, and we both chose the tomato and basil soup. My daughter was 12 at the time, and when it arrived, we didn't realise that it was a really thick and tangy soup - lovely for older people, but a bit strong for her pallate! I scoffed mine, as it was gorgeous, but she didn't want it. No way could I eat 2 with my huge steak coming, so it was left. The waitress was horrified, and we explained that there was nothing wrong with the soup, she just didn't like it, so the waitress offered a replacement starter. As dinner was due, we declined, but she insisted on removing the soup from the bill! Best steak I had was at HRC that night too!
One of our party was also celebrating a birthday, so they made him wear a birthday cake hat, and stand on a chair so everyone could sing happy birthday to him! 40 year olds do go red!
I was really impressed with the service, food, cleanliness, and atmosphere. Great place to go!

It was a MUST the first year:)to be honest haven't been for about 10 years:(Perhaps that tells a story[?]Now the Rainforest cafe at DTD is FAB!! especially for younger kids, and the food is great!! Love Planet Hollywood there too, really spectacular, and food was great, though portions were massive[msneek]

We had a similar experience to Linda but at HRC SanFrancisco. I ordered the pig sandwich not realizing it came in a smokey bbq sauce. After tasting it I did not like it. The waitress noticed it and insisted I order something different free of charge. She did not charge for either the pig sandwich or the replacement. Excellent food and service all over the world in my experience.

The Hard rock cafe menu is the same in all HRC venues. However, in USA they are better value as what they charge $16 for in England it would be £16. My little girl loves the ambiance of HRC as well as Planet Hollywood and they are the two restaurants we look out for where ever we are. We are going to London this weekend and have pencilled in a visit to HRC, Planet Hollywood and the Rainforest Cafe. However, in London they are nowhere as picturesque as the ones in Florida. They are also quite small in comparison and nothing glamorous to look at.
I think the Rainforest Cafe in London is great - we'll be eating there on Friday in fact! They close so early though!
I only go to the Hard Rock Cafe in London when we don't have the kiddies with us - it can get quite smokey as it's so small.
Planet Hollywood in London is awful as a restaurant - but great as a bar.

We had an American boss play a wicked joke on us; we were running a big project for one of the top banks in London and had invited 1 of the directors to lunch so our American friend agreed to organize it (he had the expense account). We (about four of us) met the director and a some of his managers at the bank then we were taken by car to the venue. Yes! if you haven’t guessed it was the Rainforest restaurant in London. In we troop all in dark suits some with briefcases surrounded by kids and mums, and the banks director was not amused. Food and service were great though and we all got balloons for being good boys.[msnsmile2]
Awwwww, did the Director come round in the end Dave?

Well we nicknamed the project Grace after that " but for the grace of God, we nearly got fired"
Though worth it to see the faces on the Bank suits..[msnsmile2]
Hard Rock Cafe never again, the food was raw and the service was not up to much maybe we caught them on a bad day but we won't be going back, now Planet Hollywood, can't get enough, great portions, great food, great service.

I personally have never had a bad experience at Hard Rock but you should have wrote a letter enclosing the cheque as you must have caught them on a bad day. I do prefer HRC to planet Hollywood and feel next time you will not be unlucky, but having said that once you have a bad meal you tend never to go back so write your letter and i am sure next time you will not be disappointed.

My 3 teenagers love HRC and would be very disappointed if we didn't go whilst in Universal. Weve never had a bad experience there and the staff are always helpful.A bit on the pricey side,I think our last meal came to just over $100 inc.[msneek] beers, soft drinks and coffees

i am off to london this weekend and hard rock cafe is on the agenda and the following weekend we are going camping in nottingham, so i will be paying hard rock cafe a visit then. sad!!! but it is the next best thing to a florida steak. i never change my choice.[msnsmile2]
Went last night !!!! Brilliant!! After a day at Universal, just whata the doc ordered!!! Kids after a full day out in VERY hot sun were a bit jaded but I suggested HRC after a long ago trip in LOndon. They'd been in 10 seconds & they all perked up!!! Wouldnt like to take Nana & Grampa - bit noisy, but food was great, quality excellent, price $106 for 6 people inc drinks. Great value & a good experience!!! Go for it!!:D

went to hard rock in london and food as fantastic as usual. rainforest was great too, the steak was cooked to perfection. shame the prices are not as reasonable as florida. also went to Harrods for some krispy kreme donuts and were they fantastic - think so. roll on october and my holiday!
