Whilst on my lunch break noticed in the Oddbins window that if you buy a six bottle case of Ernest and Julio Gallo you get a free flight to the USA. It said you can then buy an extra flight too. Has anyone else seen the offer? Has anyone tried it?

Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? Is there a catch? Sometimes these offers have "valid only" restictions of dates, destinations etc and so worth looking at the small print.

I remember a number of years ago...Hoover started this..."Buy a Hoover(product) get free flight to the USA,a number of companies jumped on the bandwagon after that. My In-laws bought a video for £150,I know that sounds dear but this was 12 years ago,and gave me and my wife the free ticket to go to New York. So it could be ok..just read the small print....have to look for my nearest Oddbins!
Don.
Not seen this offer but would like to hear more, let us know what you find out.

All I read was no flights in July and August, which suits me, as we are wanting flights for October. All I suspect is that the other person flying probably has to pay a premium price! Then again I suppose you could buy two cases and try and book seperately..........;)

Another web site that is almost as addictive as this one has information about this offer. There is a posting from someone that states he has received confirmation for his free flight to JFK in November. The promotional cases are available from supermarkets as well as wine stores. Check out madaboutbargains.co.uk & look under coupon crazy & Holidays, Hotels & Travel for more information.

This one also came up on www.moneysavingexpert.com looks to be ok but lots of exclusion dates. The thing I found with these offers (I tried with the Daily Mail) Is they tend to charge Full wack for your partner plus tax for yourself so you end up no better off. Would be interested if anyone books the total cost.
Didn't the Hoover experience end in a fiasco??? I seem to recall court cases etc - Same as the recent Avon & free mobile offer - we got ours, but thousands didn't!
Yes, the Hoover thing was a fiasco which ended up in court as thousands of people didn't get their flights as the offer was 'over subscribed' but they didn't have a disclaimer in the conditions to cover this!
As one who didn't get their Avon phone (lucky you Linda!) I'm just a tad wary of these 'wonderful' offers now! :(

The wine offer is also on special offer at Sainsburys, it was £36.99 for the case and is now £24.99 (well it was on Friday). You dont have to buy a second flight and we thought it would be ideal for a friend who travels alone to see relatives in Atlanta which was one of the destinations covered. Although he is flexible so providing 3 dates wasnt a problem you also have to provide 3 destinations and will get any one of the 3 so was no good for him.
The wine must be pretty grim if they're giving flights away!! Has anyone actually tasted it??:D[|)][xx(]

Yea our ticket for New York saved us a lot of money at the time.It was not hoover though but one of the companies that had the same kind of deal going at the time.
Don.
