Hi all,
Our dates are September 3rd until September 19th this year. Have never been before and have heard varying reports about the size of crowds and the length of waits in the queues.
Some have said to me that September is traditionally one of the slowest months and therefore we should not be faced with massive waiting times at the parks. Can any of you guys shed more light on this for me please. It will help me decide whether i need an itinery that resembles a military operation [msncry]or if i can maybe relax a bit and take it as it comes.[8D]
Cheers
Mack
We found September to be very quiet when we went with no problems at any park.

Labour Day is Sept 6th and the parks will be busy for a couple of days at that time. The rest of your visit the parks will be very light, , so much so that, the parades etc are cut back so do check the itinery carefully so that you don't miss an important 'must see'.
We will be there until the 12th Sept because we like to take advantage of the quiet times.

As has already been said, the earlier part of your trip could be a bit busier than the second half. Having said that, crowds do tail off in September. For the WDW parks, avoid EMH days. This means, AVOID MK on Sundays & Thursdays, Epcot on Wednesdays, MGM on Tuesdays and Saturdays & AK on Mondays & Fridays.
Tuesday seems to work well for IoA while Universal is good on Mondays & Wednesdays. Sea World also is quieter in the beginning of the week.

Yes-the holiday season has usually peaked by then.
You should have a great time.
Hi Mack, where have you been hiding ?!!
You'll have to let me know how you get on going via Iceland.
As you know we went that way in March and it was fine, so hope everything goes to plan.
We are off on the 24th September and I'm counting the days !
Have a fab time.:D

We have been in September and there were no crowds, as said before, avoid the 'Disney Parks at the weekend' also it was very humid as it is the hurricane season, We normally head to Daytona Beach over the weekends, it is brilliant there.

Hi Mac.
We went out last sept and had a brilliant time, weather was great(no hurricanes)very quiet.
We go out sept 2 to 23 this year, look out for the stressed out golfers.
We went out in September last year and it was great. The parks were quite quiet and the queues small, in fact, we only used the 'fast pass' once or twice. We used 'Brits Guide to Disney' book as that tells which days to avoid which parks etc. and we found it really useful. Have a great time!

It is a great time to go and our favourite time. Unfortunately due to work comitments we have to go the last week in August oh only 13 days!!!! We came back after 3 weeks in June which was also before the school holidays and good time to go to. We never travel in the holiday season if we can help it. We are in that position as we have no kids.:D

My bro -in-law always goes September and says the parks are great at that time:)Personally, I think well planned park manoevers are always a good idea, perhaps not needed to quite military precision in September, but it will always maximise your trip.[^]
Have a good one!

It stands for Extra Magic Hour. On those days, the WDW RESORT guests are admitted into the park a full hour before others, and so they prefer those days. It follows therefore that non-WDW resort guests should avoid specific parks on EMH days (see the list above) because the FPs will get used up very quickly and the queues will be longer.
We have been several times in Sept and are off there again this year, although late Sept this time, but we find the parks to be less crowded and altogether a more pleasurable experience. Have a great trip. [msncool]
