Hi, only 5 weeks to go now:D[msncool], and we have noticed the parks shut around six[:0] , so my question is what is there to do with the kids after this time?, things to do, places to go , I am hoping there will be more than just playing in the pool, the age range is from 6 to 15 so really need to be out and about until around 9 or 10 pm. All suggestions gratefully recieved. Cheers Mike

I would have thought Disney Quest at Downtown Disney would be pefect for that age range.:)

After going round Disney or for that matter any theme park for many hours all i want to do is have something to eat and go home.

When we went to Orlando as a family when I was 16, the whole family had great fun playing crazy golf of an evening. The courses are open until quite late and you can't miss them as there's loads of them dotted around. You can pick up discount vouchers too. It used to turn into quite a Tournament.

I still force Hubbie to go and play at least one game while we're over there. Takes me right back to my childhood;)

What about Crazy Golf.

We usually go to the Congo River Golf on 192 - you can also feed the alligators there. There's a few different ones on the 192 also.

Great at night when its all lit up and a bit cooler!

There's also the Disney mini golf couses we find them much cleaner than the ones on the 192 and International Drive http://www.orlandovillas.com/florida_guide/disney_golf.aspx
try this for some more info

And of course there's always Walmart! As they are 24 hr it's a good way to get some retail therapy in without loosing a day of your holiday.
If you are lucky enough to be staying in a villa with a games room or facilites on site then that helps as well.
We find its the best time to play tennis etc as its too hot during the day.

Hi M1ke

Agree that the suggestions made above are good for evening entertainment. Would also recommend a visit to any of the Disney hotels to continue the 'magic' - I especially like Animal Kingdom Lodge, where you can grab a bite to eat and then have a wander around and view the animals.

But .....

Not sure of your exact dates so I cannot be specific, but if you check the Disney World calendar for September, there are actually only 2 or 3 days on which the Magic Kingdom closes at 6.00 pm, presumably for some function or other. On the other days of the month it closes at 8.00 pm or 9.00 pm ; EPCOT closes at 9.00 pm (Future World closes earlier at 7.00 pm) ; Disney Studios close at 8.00 pm or 8.30 pm. Animal Kingdom is the only one with early closing at 5.00 pm.

thanks claire I should of been more specific sept 11th to 25th, but i was mainly talking about the universal parks since we bought universal flextickets we will only be going to the disney parks on maybe 2 or 3 days. I dont believe you can do Orlando in 12 days without killing yourself so I would prefer to miss out on some but really enjoy what we do experience, the kids picked out universal parks rather than the disneys as the main tickets through the websites.

First off, the kids (and yourselves!) might be shattered after a busy days the Universal Parks and might be glad for the chance to return to the villa and chill out in the pool. But if they are still feeling energetic, there are plenty of places to spend several hours afterwards.

1. Disney Quest (usually open till 11pm)
2. Wonder Works (Also open late)
3. Old Town (Better on Friday or Saturday evenings)
4. Skull Kingdom (for the older kids and adults only!)
5. Shopping - a lot of the malls stay open late
6. You could book places in a dinner show or go to Cirque du Soleil

Have a great time.:)

"E,M I,m guessing steph is short for stephanie and not stephen going off your reply"

How did you guess?

Well you could always drop the other half off at the shops whilst you go and relax at home with the children and then pick her up later.
One of the nights the park shuts early is for a "night of joy" a Christian celebration evening they have been running for a while and I cant remeber the other. I checked as we'll be out there about the same time, come home on 16th.

You can always do City Walk -that's open till late or Downtown Disney or go to the cinema-we saw Shrek 2 on our last vivit.

There's a multiplex cinema at Downtown Disney, City Walk or Pointe Orlando.

Hotel Boardwalk has lots of things going on on a night-you can see the Epcot fireworks from there.

The Seven Seas lagoon has a water pageant that starts around 9pm-you can see it from the Polynesian Beach.

If you rent a villa with a games room-you can always chill out in the pool and let the kids whup one another AT pool!
