Went to Seaworlds Halloween event today. It was much better than it was last year and is unlike all the other Halloween events in that it is included in the normal park admission fee rather than being separate and at extra cost. Several of the shows were loosely themed on Halloween ( Pets Ahoy and Clyde and Seymore) and the park was decorated up with gravestones, skeletons etc. Several cast members were in costume ( including one poor woman dressed as a pumpkin and another as a manta ray!!) but there were far more ordinary people in costume for the costume parade and trick and treating round the park. The evening Shamu show was sort of themed with smoke, orange lighting, a Matrix set piece ( with Neo and Trinity surfing on whales backs) and music from a Nightmare before Christmas and Lets do the Timewarp again. Last year I was disappointed that there was no finale. This year they were using the Bayside Stadium again ( they were building the Waterfront last year) and there was a pirate show and fireworks at 9 pm. Only complaint was that the very good Thriller final piece of the show was on just as the fireworks were being let off and it was impossible to really watch both. Hard for a marine park to be really spooky but a good attempt. Its on again next weekend too, 25th and 26th October.

Is this still on this year as they are meant to be refurbing the Dolphin enclosure.
