These are great fares especially when you consider that you can book so far in advance. As is usual with BA, regional departures aren't such good value.

Just remember to be nice to the crew - they'll probably be working for nothing.

We saw some figures the other day that show that their pay is around double what Virgin cabin crew are paid.

My comment was actually tongue in cheek and a reference to BA's request to their staff to work without pay to get them out of the mess they're in. I really don't know enough about the issue to comment on whether they're overpaid or not.

(I see that Virgin aren't immune from the downturn and have just announced staff redundancies as well).

Very good news, the airlines have been priced out by the government charging such high taxes, as you know the taxes are often more than the flight itself. I did read in the news the other day that Holland was abolishing most of it's airport taxes as their airlines are struggling so much so they are doing something to help them.

This is more because Virgin crew are paid so badly rather than BA crew being paid so well.

We just booked through opodo and it was BA that was the cheapest flights. for 2 adults and 1 child it was only £1024 for May 2010
