Planning a trip to Florida at xmas and considering booking an 8 seater SUV from Budget - however as there seem to be mixed responses as to whether you can get one of these or not, thought I'd ask on here.

Has anyone booked an 8 seater SUV from Budget recently and actually got one when they arrived at the airport? Being xmas makes it even harder for vehicles like this, even the 7 seat SUV I had booked with Alamo took a while to arrive (as it seemed they were trying to find one)

Also if they didn't have one, what was available for you to take?

We have again stopped offering these since too many clients were let down on collection of the car. We have been assured that all existing bookings will definately be honoured, but they can not guarantee any new bookings hence we won't risk this for our customers. Some other suppliers are still taking bookings for these cars, but we value our customers too much to risk it.

Thanks Roger, seems like no one's doing these anymore actually......it's listed on the budget website though but at an astronomical price.

Will have to settle for a 7 seater I think

i booked/got an extended 8 seater 4x4 in may from budget via this site-it was really good no complaints at all.
i did notice though that it was registered and plated in virginia so they must move "the stock" round the country

Thanks, unfortunately it appears all the hire car operators have retracted the 8 seater SUVs at the mo.......interesting that, the car I had in FL last xmas was also from virginia - I assumed someone must have dropped the car off here after hiring it there but I guess they must also move cars around at busy times.
