Hi Nigel, I have visited KSC a few times now and i would recommend the Up Close Tour, it costs about $21 on top of your entry fee. If your lucky you will see a shuttle on the launch pad.

Kennedy is awesome. You can even have lunch with an astronaut, well worth doing. The next launch is scheduled for June 26.
For all the info on how to get there and things to do, visit the Kennedy Space Center website [website link edited]

Have a great time

we love Kennedy. It has changed massively since we first went in 1992 but is great. For 4 trips a launch has been scheduled but always delayed and by the time we go again the shuttle prigramme will have ceased We have only ever done the standard stuff but still enjoy it every time we go

Hi and thansk for all the info. We are off next Tuesady to Fla.

Exactly waht do you get with the basic admission price and how long should we plan to stay there.

The website syasy the coach tour is two hours itself is there much to do aside from that? What about the IMAx theatre? Do you get to se anything?

Also is the launch simulator part of the basic admission and if so are there horrendous lines for it ?

Is it worth going on to Cocoa Beach after?

Another vote for the Up Close tour...although it has limited places and does tend to sell out quickly so get there early. I think you can also book via the website but I have never tried this.

The Rocket Garden is excellent.

IMAX is great...there are some good films.

Simulator is included in the price, and the queues can be bad during busy times.

Food is...OK...burgers and stuff.

Overall I would say if you or the family are even just the least bit interested in the NASA space program, a visit to KSC is a must. Just to be on the same site where Apollo missions left from is a real thrill.
