| I'm sure I have read that the Alamo Silver option now allows 2 drivers, but I just wanted to make sure before I book anything.
Is that correct?
Thanks, Linda |

| | So what's the difference now between silver and gold with alamo? Just the tank of fuel? |

| | Ahh right, so you can have more drivers on gold. So if you only had 2 drivers, would you recommend silver, or is gold still a better option? Does Alamo let you bring the car back full or do they also do the thing where you bring it back empty and pay a set price for the tank? | Edited by - parthiban on 24 Jun 2009 23:51:38 |

| Don't think you have an option with Alamo, you must buy the tank of petrol at their rates! Its not easy to bring it back totally empty either, that takes a lot of nerve and I would think most people will err on the safe side. I've just booked for next month and decided on the silver as I thought the extra cost of the gold was excessive as I didn't need extra drivers and with only the tank of petrol it seemed a lot more expensive. | Andy

| | Exactly, I'm not sure if the difference is justified now, especially on longer stays. I've been looking at car hire for a trip at the end of the year, and the difference between silver and gold with Alamo is £91 - I can't imagine they'll charge anywhere near that for the fuel? |
