You can take your own mobility scooter but you need to let your airline know well in advance. For recharging, a US two or three pin plug is required and also note that the voltage is 110 rather than the 220/240 here - check your scooter instructions.

Make sure that either your travel insurance or your scooter insurance includes travel abroad.

You can also rent a mobility scooter in Florida and rental normally includes delivery and collection to and from your villa. Try www.walkermobility.com or www.randysmobility.com which have both been used by my guests and recommended.

You'll also need to rent a vehicle large enough to transport your scooter.

The US is very disabled friendly and most doorways, etc are wide enough to accept one. As you're staying in a villa, if you need to use your scooter indoors then check with your villa owner that their home doors are wide enough for your scooter.

Have a great time.
