You can definately upgrade, basically just gets you nearer to the central bridge, However some days you can be just as near on noraml parking just one fligth up or down the escalators. Haven't been out for over a year so couldn't tell you the current price.

You can get upgraded parking at Universal Studios but I am not sure how much extra it is.

Yes, there are 2 types of upgrade you can make at Universal - either preferred parking or valet parking. We always use the preferred, it really reduces your walk back to the car after a long day at the park.

Valet parking is well worth it especially if you have kids. It's $20 but you just park and go up to the steps to City Walk. Even better on the way our after a long day walking around.

We were at Universal on Wednesday and its $12 for normal parking and $18 for prefered.
It was busy last week due to the holiday period but it will be alot less busy this next week. We alway opt for the normal parking and at worst it takes a few more minutes walk compared to the prefered.
The valet seems a better option compared to the prefered but bear in mind you still have to wait for them to deliver your vehicle.

Valet is good, but last summer there were two tiers of that! You had to wait longer for your car, and the 'top tier' were parked right there in front of you, cluttering the turning circle. That puts me off -Universal are more obvious with their money making than Disney -with their rip off 2 tier fast pass system etc :(

We were at Universal today and the normal parking was in a very similar place to the prefered parking only down one level. Universal was dead and we managed to walk onto the Simpsons ride 3 times. Last week you had to wait 60 mins at 10am.

We found getting to the parks early meant we were close to the preferred parking anyway. At Busch they actually put us in preferred parking; that was great, very close to entrance which was great because that was a long day as were only spending 1 day there.
