We are planning a trip to Miami and would love to stay right on Ocean Drive in one of the infamous Art Deco hotels. Does anyone have any recommendations? It would be for Christmas 09

We have stayed in The Park Central with an ocean view room, it is such a beautiful hotel across the road from the beach.

I've got a non-recommendation and that's for the Surf Comber Inn which is an art deco hotel on Collins and backs onto the ocean - if it's still there!

Someone told me that there are the art deco hotels in the road behind that are a lot cheaper - has anyone heard this?

jojo it all depends where you stay really.

As there was just 2 of us and it was a special ocassion we stayed in a really fantastic small Deco Hotel in January 2000 on Collins and it was $$$$ but it was the real deal and I would go back again. I have pictures somewhere, I'll see if I can dig them out.

We have also stayed on Ocean Drive and that was way cheaper than the smaller deco hotels on Collins on a per night basis so it really depends what you want!
