hi

I am planning first visit to Florida next June (last week of June, 1st week july)

Myself, the missus, and 3 teenagers (18,16,13), We would like a villa with a private pool but the teenagers want somewhere to meet new people, make friends, hang out...etc

I'm thinking of a villa in a complex with plenty of "teenager friendly" facilities (a pool, table tennis, even a disco!). A lot of the places I look like dont look too "teenager friendly".

We were thinking of the Kissimee area as it is close for Univeral Studios, and plenty of shopping...

I know the american schools will be on holidays so hoping for somewhere they might meet some american teenagers...

any advice and suggestions welcome

woody

We took our son last year and found he made friends on the beach. He is very out going and he was out and about with them. The American teenagers even came around to the villa to pick him up. They took him to there homes, fishing, tennis and to the Mall to meet others, (They loved his accent)
He talks to anyone, maybe he is in the minority.

Quite a few communities have resident families on them.
Kids usually talk to anyone with a similar age! It's a gift they have I think!

I know our community has a few families that live there full time.
So no doubt many others have too

We have a nice family from Scotland and one from England that live over the road. (Lucky devils)

Very friendly family.
Our son and his mate spent some time with them on their last trip.

No doubt he will be again when he goes with us at the end of this month.
Similar ages too.

Our Management's Kids go to the local Skating Rink on a Friday with their friends too.

Our teenager met some great pals when he went to Space camp for a week. They invited him to their homes and out for a meal.

We have the advantage of being Christians so every time we go, we go to Celebrate Church, which now meets at the Ramada Orlando Sun Resort and they have clubs for teenagers and students. They are very welcoming. My daughter who's 18 is so proud of the fact she can say she's friends with Prince Charming, last week he was in the Magic Kingdom show and parade!
