Hi Guys, I have probably missed it on another post somewhere, so I apologise but I've got a car booked through Roger with Alamo, and I have the gold package and young driver surcharge, all paid, but will they still require my card at the desk to swipe and put a block on?

Yes, this is typically swiped with around $500 blocked of your card.

can I ask why that is? As I thought with the gold insurance I wouldn't have any excess to pay in the event of an accident or anything?

What if you didn't have enough credit on your card?

Please see this link for the reason: http://www.uscarhire.co.uk/faq-collecting-car.aspx#89

If you don't have enough credit then that will be a problem, so you need to ensure you have $500 spare credit on the card you are going to use.

I didn't know this when we went in July there for the first time, it's as well my dad was the lead driver and he had his card with him. I was abit disgusted at the end of the holiday when they charged us $175 for a booster seat. We will know next time to bring our own with us.

Yes, child and booster seats are very expensive. Many agents don't point out the cost of these in advance. We state this clearly on our site.

I booked my last car with you and the service was excellent.

It was at the airport when they asked if we have brought our car seat and we said no, the guy serving us said "I'll get you one" and stupid me thought that he as just giving it to us for free!!

We are arriving into Orlando International next time, so if we book our car with Dollar our card won't be swiped, is this right?

Yes, if you book the Gold option with Dollar from MCO then they will not require a card swipe if you book through us.
