Hi received booking info today and my virgin info says
"anyone travelling on passport issued after 26th Oct 2005 will be required to obtain a US Visa"
is this correct as my 2 daughters only recently got their new passports so will they need a Visa??

This is not true. You should be able to enter on the visa waiver programme, check here:

If I remember rightly the US have extended the time period from when visitors would need a visa.

As long as the passport is the biometric one with the data strip at teh bottom that should be okay, we ahd our passportd renewed last year. and have already been back to the states .

Virgin(or their agents) have quoted the(out of date) instruction that was issued when the USA had set a deadline for biometric passports to be used.

The UK and other countries could not meet that deadline for the issue of Biometric passports so the USA extended the deadline for a year(and then another year I believe).

Now UK only issue Biometric passports so the problem has gone away.
