Hi

I am sure I read somewhere that you could buy Virgin airmiles to top up the ones you have etc. Just wondering if this is still the case and does anyone know what the mimimum cost is and how many miles you get.

I currently have enough miles to get flights, but as I have not used the card for sometime they expire at the end of June this year. We don't fly with Virgin again until next July so its too early to book the flights. Thought that maybe buying a few extra miles will keep the ones I already have safe!

You can buy upto 19000 miles a year and that's around £300 worth if I remember rightly.

You can buy miles in increments of 1K, the lowest amount of IK will cost you £15 plus £15 admin fee. This will keep your account open for the next 3 years.

Some other alternatives would be to either get a Virgin CC, buy some Virgin wine or stay at a partner hotel. There are other options too.

Hubby has started doing E-rewards which you can do online surveys and get 'paid' in points which can convert to Virgin miles. This was handy for keeping his account active.

Hi

Thanks everyone. I have found the info on the Virgin Website and bought the mimimum airmiles possible, so now my account is open until 2011. All ready to book my flights for next Summer once they are released

We registered for E-rewards too. Have not looked into how you convert them to Virgin Miles so any info would be handy.

The info is on the e-rewards website. Minimum is 2000 e-miles and I think that gets you 500 virgin miles. Not mega amounts but very useful for keeping your account ticking over
