Already have an Abbey C/C but think I might consider closing it (I believe you can't transfer balances from existing Abbey cards) and trying the new Zero card as , like the Nationwide card it doesn't charge commission on purchases abroad.
Just found out about it but it's too late to investigate for our next US trip as we go in 2 days.

I think i'm correct in saying that all Abbey credit cards are run by MBNA, so don't expect to pay cash in an abbey branch and think it will clear your balance there and then.

Correct Wilf, MBNA run Abbeys cards.

They also have a very long memory, so if you have ever paid late or missed a payment on any other card they run you will not get one of these.
