| | 2.40 am this morning my son rang to say his partner was in labour and contractions were fairly strong and a few minutes apart, just woken them shortly before. I said I would get dressed and be there shortly to look after my other grandson (I live a few minutes away), he then rang ambulance, hospital abt same distance away. 2.45 he sent a text to say waters had broken, I said I was dressed and on my way down the stairs. When I arrived ambulance(car) was there proper ambulance abt 2 mins behind me. Front door was slightly ajar went in and there was my sons girlfriend with my new grandson in her arms, my son had delivered him as he arrived whilst he was ringing for the ambulance and they had arrived 30 secs before me. The paramedic cut the cord a few minutes later. Baby, mum and dad have now gone to hospital for all checkups and they will just observe everything ok for 24 hours. Still in shock it was just so sudden, really proud of my son keeping so calm and delivering his son. | Jan | Edited by - eagleydo on 06 May 2008 14:25:02 | | Report this post to a moderator |

| | Had the camera in my bag, but to shocked with the speed and forgot to take pics. Waiting to hear from my son at the hospital to say they have moved them to ward from the delivery suite and that we can pop in quickly to see them both, then I can take some pics. Can't believe I had the camera and forgot to take the pics. | Jan | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |
