We are looking for somewhere really nice to eat on New Year's day either for dinner or lunch. There will be four of us: myself, my husband and our 2 children aged 20 and 22.Any recommendations and will we have to book soon?
We will be staying at Windwood Bay, booked through this site and know the Disney area quite well but have never been at this time of the year before.

Really depends what type of food you are looking for. We ate at the Japanese restaurant in Celebration the other night, excellent food and less than $100 for 4 adults.

You will not be able to book yet. Most places don't take bookings this far out. There are many fabulous restaurants on Restaurant Row (Sandlake Road)some of them have outdoor seating which overlooks a small lake.
I also like the restaurants in Celebration . Columbia is nice for a special Day . They start taking bookings around September I think .You can use open table to book them.
