Hi. My two will be 7/12 and 10 when we go to Florida, but have no idea what height they'll be. I've read on the universal orlando site that it can be between 36 and 56 inches? But they don't give every ride in every park, and I was wondering if mine will be able to go on all the ride, assuming they'll be of average height?

If not, what rides would they not be allowed to go on? I'm thinking if there are a lot of rides they can't go on, to wait another year loner so they can/ I don't really want to wait longer than I already am lol so am hoping they can go on the majority.

I know there are other things to do in Florida, and we're doing them, including discovery cove, where they have to be 6, but I just wanted to know this.

Thanks everyone.

p.s oh and is it true that the simpsons ride has replaced back to the future??? I knew it was being made but didn't know it was replacing that. I loved that ride! It's one of the rides I remember the theme park for! lol

Older child should have no problems with the majority of rides. Don't think the younger child will be able to go on the rollercoasters.

It is strange you can't get this info from their website, on the park maps this info is available.

Certainly, by 10 all three of mine were doing all the rides at all the parks, and they are around average height.

Younger than that there were some they did not actually want to do. I think it must be around that age when thrill overcomes fear.

Hi Gemma,

If you look on their website and click on each attraction it does state the minimum height restrictions. For instance these are the restrictions for a few of the more exciting rides.

The Hulk = minimum 54"
Dr Dooms Fearfall = 52"
Duelling Dragons = 54"

And you are correct that The Simpsons has replaced Back to the Future, I think it opens this month

That's fantastic thank you!

So the maximum limit is 54". Does anybody know how many cm's and feet that is? lol

I'm hoping they'll both be over 48"? So that would mean they can go on most things. I haven't got a tape measure though so haven't got a clue how tall that is lol

Thanks again, this is brilliant info.

Quite saddened I won't be able to ride back to the future again. We went back on over and over on that one lol

Oh great, thanks. That'll mean they'll get on most things, just not the odd coaster. That's not too bad then, although I really loved Dueling Dragons! Maybe they'll be really tall for their ages lol

My youngest daughter was nearly 8 the first time we took her and she managed to get on all the rides, but she was tall for her age.

She was determined to go on everything and on the few times she was measured she pulled hersel up to be as tall as possible.

I even heard her ask my eldest who was 13 if she could borrow some shoes that had a little heel but I put a stop to that.

Little devil lol I think my youngest is going to be tall, as she's tall for her age now. My eldest is really small for his age though, so I wouldn't be surprised if they're both the siz of a 9 year old when they're 7 1\2 and 10 lol

If they end up too small for a lot of rides, we'll just have to move it to the yea after. I'm waiting 5 years, what's another...

My eldest is 5 and she's easily 125cm's.

She got on most things when we were there back in october when she was only 4, including Mission Space, Splash Mountain,Space Mountain (over and over and over again as it was her favourite), Tower of Terror, Expedition Everest,Jurassic Park, Spiderman etc etc.

Too small for Rock N Roller Coaster,Duelling Dragons, The Hulk and Dr Doom much to her dissapointment, but no doubt she'll do them all next year.

Oh that's fantastic. There are some great rides there she managed to get on. Can't wait to go on tower of terror again. Has it changed much in the last 8 years? lol

I really want them to be able to get on the last ones you mentioned, they're great.

Do you know, even if your youngest is too small for some of the larger roller coasters, there is really PLENTY to amuse her. She will be spoiled for choice! The chances are, that she won't want to go on the larger rides, anyway.

Don't worry about it. You and your whole family will have a wonderful time

My youngest was 50" at Christmas and desperate to go on everything in August. We did say to her to have a better chance of growing 4" by then to try eating more fruit and veg She grew 2" by February so is keen to eat healthy foods as it's working! She was 8 last October and is average height compared to the others in her class.
I too was sad to see Back to the Future close

We actually had the opposite problem first time we went when our daughter was 10. She wanted to go on the Pteranadon flyers in Animal Kingdom for which you had to be UNDER a certain height. It was designed for children so if you were accompanying a small child you could go on regardless of height so it wasnt a physical thing of someone being too big for the ride (like a kind of chair lift ride). As she was over the height limit they refused to let her on, by then she was well over 5', so was disappointed but what was worse she saw so many adults (especially Chinese) who because they were under the height limit, despite not accompanying children were allowed to go on it.

Aww bless her. I hadn't thought of that. Like a pp said, I know there's plenty for the kids to enjoy, and I've no doubt they'll love it anyway. Thing is, I want to go on dueling dragons! lol I've not been for so long, I'd be so disappointed if I don't get to go on my favourite rides lol.

Better get cracking on finding a man then, just so I can go on them all lol
