Thank you all for your comments.

I lost 3 stone by myself doing a low fat diet but came to a standstill so joined slimming world and found it great, being able to eat lots and nothing is off limits.

I also found that I had to plan in advance my meals so once a week I wrote my meals down and shopped accordingly. I had to have some kind of chocolate everyday so used my sins this way, I don't drink so that part was easy. I hardest part for me was bread, I love sandwiches, toast etc but I changed to making pasta to take to work for lunch.

The whole family ate the same as me and we saw great results. We all agreed it was very easy and I am now determined to get back on track with the summer just round the corner and a holiday to The Algarve booked in August.

Well I joined Slimming World a few weeks ago but probably not at the best time as I am now out in Spain for the summer looking after the villas that we have here, but I have brought out all my Slimming World books and menu plans and hopefully will stay on track. I do a lot more walking when I am out here and the fruit and vegetables from the local market are superb. When we visit local restaurants I am usually pretty good and order salad and fish but my downfall is the basket of soft crusty bread and alioli!!

Hi Ruth and welcome to the thread It's good to have you join us and I hope you can find the willpower now to shed a few lbs.

Sally, I know what you mean about bread it is my biggest downfall. I can resist chocolate more than I can resist bread!

Well done Pamela You are doing great!

I feel very inspired at the moment with all these new 'members' on board!!

Hope everyone has a great day.

I have had brekkie already today

2 quorn sausages
2 eggs (fried in fry light)
2 slice nimble wholemeal (HB)
Black coffee

My Mum is coming over for the day to help me with a huge pair of curtains I am currently making so no chance to snackk!! (Hence the big but healthy breakfast!!)

Hi ladies (and gentlemen) can I join in too? I like others have silently followed this thread, but with my Florida holiday looming in August I feel it's time to start seriously slimming.

I have approx two stone to lose, but I would be thrilled with half a stone then another if you get my meaning.

I just bought a Nintendo Wii Fit (naff i know) and I must say that although it's not a workout like a gym class, for people who have done nothing for years it's an excellent way of gently getting into exercise.

Done my exercise for this morning, and taking my Grandson for a long walk later

Hi Suzy, good to have you on board

I found that setting myself small targets was better than the whole lot that I needed to looose. Eeven if it's just a couple of pounds to reach your next target. I would have given up at the beginning thinking I have to drop 4 stone. I used all sort of targets, 3lb to get into the next stone bracket, 2lb to get to 1/2 stone things like that and it was easy. I also kept a diary and every week I wrote down my weight so could look back and see what I weighed this time last month, this time 6 months ago etc. If it helped to spur me on then thats what I did.

I am going to sit down and plan my meals for next week and go shopping tonight after work. Time to look back through old slimming world mags for ideas.

Have a good day.

Welcome Sue. Another new member, this gets better every day.

Pamela, I am so pleased for you as I know you are trying really hard. I wish I could pick up some of your enthusiasm

I will post a diary for yesterday and see if that helps me!

Coffee with skimmed milk throughout day.
Porridge
2 Scrambled eggs, folled by ff salad and lf cottage cheese
Spag Bol. Huge portion followed by ff salad.

Camomile tea with a pack of Go Ahead Crispy slices. Syns ???

Actually, it does not sound too bad apart from the spag bol.

Will try again today before I get to Majorca and the crusty bread and alioli

Have a great weekend everyone.

Welcome Sue 1/2 stone at a time is a good way forward! It sounds very daunting to say say the total target weight loss so setting small achievable goals is great. I am also trying to lose a lot and so I would like to lose 1/2 stone in the next 6 weeks.

Good luck ladies (and gents)!!

What is so annoying Pamela I got to target and gone downhill eversince.

Been good so far today, just porridge for breakfast, and ff for lunch. We are off to another Black tie jobbie tonight in Bude, Cornwall so saving myself as I know the hotel serves delicious food

Hope you have a lovely time tonight Sandra I'm sure you will get back there, just think though, if you were not trying to be healthy during the day before these events and keeping a grip on things it could be worse. You are doing well in the circumstances.

Lunch today

Black coffee
Batchelor's pasta'n'sauce (free on a green day)

No snacks yet!!

Well, I have given me a "treat" and had a new hairstyle

One step to get me going on this healthy life.

Wonder if I am a few pounds lighter without the long hair

I have been thinking of returning to this thread so when we get back from Florida towards the end of May I will get back to it with a vengance.

Like Sandra I got to target but am now very slightly over, well more than slightly however am being very good out here, fruit for breakfast, salads for lunch and then only indulging in the evening when we go out.

Just catching up today as I weight (pun intended) for hubby to come home.

Thanks for the recipe Paula, it sounds great. Can you make a double batch and freeze it?

Well done to all who have been successful in loosing weight
