| Hello everyone,
We are staying in the same villa as last year (Sept) at Lake Berkley Resort and this time in October. We did not heat the pool last September and it was fine, how about October, does it cool significantly enough to need pool heating?
Your advice is appreciated.

| A lot depends on how you like the pool. If it has a blanket and you put it on at night then it may be OK.
You are on the cusp of the change over to needing pool heat. If you like your pool cooler then wait and see. However if you have children with you then I would book the pool heat now.
Regards Dave

| I would say definitely. Having a heated pool in October will make a huge difference, although there are people who like it cold!
Personally, I am a wimp with a capital 'W' and always have the heat on whatever the time of year, as the hotter the outside temperature the cooler the pool feels. My guests must also be wimps as without exception everyone has booked it this year.
Now of course, there will be some who like to freeze, but I don't want to waste a precious minute dipping my toes in and then shivering, so I would opt for pool heat.
Thankfully there are plenty of other wimps out there, who will agree with me. | Ellie

| I would suggest booking it beforehand as that way you will arrive to a nice warm pool. It can take a little while for a large pool to heat up properly as there is a huge amount of water involved. If you wait until you get there it may take a couple of days to reach the optimum temperature. For the small amount you save it is not worth not having it ready for your arrival. Nothing better than a quick dip in a warm pool after a transatlantic flight - and the kids will thank you for it - and if they are happy the whole family is happy!
Go on, treat yourself! You will be glad you did. | Ellie

| We've always had and needed pool heat in October especially as the evenings are much cooler, would book it before you go that way will already be warm, otherwise allow 1-2 days for it to heat up | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |
