Hi Sharon,

Old Town Kissimmee is a great place to spend an evening. The cars are amazing. There are a few shops to browse around and sometimes there is live entertainment on, we have seen line dancers in the past. You won't miss it, it's on the 192 and very easy to spot, there is a funfair and a sky dive thingy (can't think what it's called now)which can be spotted because of the lights.

Still got to get to Broadwalk myself but judging by some of the photos on here is looks great.

Hi Sharon

Yes Old Town is a lively place particularly on a Saturday night when there aer even more cars and older cars. There is often entertainment as well but it great fun just watching people on the thrill rides too. The food outlets are mainly fast food rather than high quality restaraunts - we normally eat before we go. It is really easy to find as it is off the 192 quite near the junction with the I4 and you will see the towers of the slingshot from a distance.

The Boardwalk is also excellent - just like the seaside in the 50s. Much more tranquil during the day but quite lively in the evenings with entertainers on the boardwalk. There are some good restaurants but they do get very busy so book ahead if you want a meal.

It really is amazing how much there is to do.

we have been past old town but not stopped, it's fairly easy to find, if you do a search at the top you will come across some topics and pics of the car rally

the boardwalk we discovered on the last day of our last florida trip and wish we'd headed over sooner, it is a lovely place and the atmostphere is fab, if you have the time and the appetite you should check out the kitchen sink at beaches n cream, this is high on my "to do" list this next trip

The car park for visitors to the Boardwalk is opposite the hotel. There are traffic lights at the entrance. You then cross the road, head for the main entrance to the Hotel and you will see some steps down the to Boardwalk just before the main entrance. If you have someone in a wheelchair or children in strollers you will see the disabled access signs and you go through the hotel to the lift.

There is quite a bit of parking at Old Town or park opposite by the shops and restaurants if you can. We generally cruise around and find a spot.

On a Saturday they let people park in the open field next to Old Town on the left. Makes life a bit easier but be awre that people come and go all night through Old Town and exiting can take a few mins extra. Well worth a visit... we go everytime we're out there. The shops are great and be sure to check out the old general store. You can purchase lots of old memorabilia like "Budweiser" products etc.

The Go-Karts are cool also.

You'll love it.

Hi Sharon
Yes you must go to Old Town
We will be going May 9th the night before we go to the villa.
Its a great atmostphere, last time we went we watched the line dancers and they had 3 live bands/singers.
Through the day I like to sit and people watch, and listen to the music oldies.

Hi Sharon

Old Town has got to be a definite go go..
We have been each time and have really enjoyed the entire evening. The atmosphere is great. Each time we have been has been a staturday evening when the cars display themselves in their glory and they are great. However, having looked on the website they advertise a motor bike night aswell. Think we will try this next time.

There is a photo shop, where you can be dressed up in outfits of an era of choice and have sepia effect photo's taken. We did this with all our family (15 ppl) adults and children and it was really funny. Everyone really enjoyed it and the photo's were great..we even got a good deal!

The Haunted house was scarily funny too. The staff really play the part and get the nerves going, but all in good fun.

We haven't eaten there so cannot say whether good idea.

But overal I think the window shopping, people watching, car gazing and the general atmosphere makes this place worth a visit.

Have fun

Jo

It's a really good night out Sharon. Especially at the weekend for the car cruises. It has a kind of Grease type vibe going on. There - I dare anyone now to go there and not hum Summer Nights or Greased Lightning to themselves as the cars are passing.

I'm sure there are some more Old Town photos in the photo forums if you dig back some.
