Well folks here is the next installment.

Day 11 - Wednesday
Today we decided to drop mother in law at Walmart for a few hours whilst we did a bit of exploring. We couldn't go too far as we had to pick her up so we decided to try Kissimmee Lakefront Park as we have read about it on here. We plugged in the SatNav and off we went, we found our way easily and parked up in front of the water. It is the first time we have been somewhere more natural in Florida, venturing away from the theme parks, shopping malls and eateries.

The lake was impressive but it was extremely windy and not that interesting to the kids so we wandered to the play area in search of shelter. There was a large play area that was under a large canopy so the children are protected from the sun which is a great idea. There was also a couple of swings in a separate sandy area and a large cafe/ice cream shop in the form of a boat nearby and some restrooms. The girls played a little whilst Neil popped into the restrooms, he came out to tell me that it wasn't wallpaper on the walls of the restroom but a carpet of mosquito's eek!

Oren decided it was food time so I settled on a bench to give him his bottle while Neil and the girls went to get an ice-cream. They came out with the brightest nastiest e-number filled ice lolly things that they could find I am sure! Libby's was bright yellow and in the shape of SpongeBob square pants and Sydney’s was a multi coloured ice pop thing that immediately snapped in half and fell on the floor, it took about 30 seconds for them to start melting in the sun and dripping all over them! A packet of wipes later and Libby is still stained yellow and Sydney's mouth is blue, what do they put in these things!

We popped to the loo but OMG the mosies were everywhere and it wasn't a pleasant experience so we didn't linger, and the water play area was shut and also covered in a thick carpet of mosies. Apparently it normally opens in March so I don't know if it was shut because of the mosies or some other reason but it wasn't particularly inviting covered in black creatures anyway!

We took some photos and then headed back to the car as the wind was a bit fierce for us especially Orens parasol on the buggy!. We had a bit of time left so we drove around looking at the houses in the area and such where we took a wrong turn down a dead end at one point and came across some scarecrows in a garden – maybe they were put there to ward off nosy tourists lol! We turned around to go back to the 192 and Walmart.

Mother in law picked up we dropped the Walmart bags home as there were items that would melt in the car and headed off for some more shopping. We popped in Lake Buena Vista Outlets and picked up some new Sketchers for me. As Mother in Law bought a pair of Vans for Neils brother in the same shop mine were 50% off – bargain. There was nothing for the girls though so we continued on to Premium Outlets where we managed to get a pair of Sketchers for each of the girls also on a buy one get one half price deal – bargain, mother in law paid for them – even better bargain lol!

Then Oren decided to scream the shopping centre down as he was hungry and we headed back to car where I sat in the back to feed him. We were starving too and we needed to get something quick and tasty so we headed over the road from Premium to grab a Subway.

We were not eating out tonight as mother in law was staying in with Oren and we wanted to catch some fireworks at one of the parks – we decided on Illuminations at Epcot. We just managed to squeeze in an early evening swim and a browse of the internet at the pool before heading out.

We decided not to head for the main Epcot parking lot but instead drove to the Fantasia Mini Golf parking lot and walked through past The Swan and The Dolphin, along The Boardwalk and into Epcot through the International Gateway where we arrived about 30 minutes prior to Fireworks and settled just before France to watch them. Fireworks done we headed back out the way we came where we stopped for a slice of pizza from Spoodles and watched a magician before taking two very tired little girls home to bed.

Another great report Heidi.

I've not been to Broadwalk yet and would love to have a little browse around. Is it very easy to come across??

Thanks everyone

Caitlin the Boardwalk is really easy to find. It is across the road from the back entrance to MGM. We always follow the signs for Fantasia Mini Golf as that is near by. There is a good thread with a map and some of our old photos from 2006 here - http://www.orlando-guide.info/forums/topic_32160.asp
