Hi everyone, we will be in Orlando for 3 wks in October and space shuttle Endevour has a launch planned around the 16th. Can people tell me where the best places to view the launch are, maybe a beach somewhere or real close up. My family are excited to see a launch and I want to get them to a great spot for this.

Thanks in advance.

Stuart

Cocoa beach is pretty good. The launch pad is clearly visable. However, take a radio with you, or sit close to someone who has. Nowt like sitting around wondering what's going on, only to find that it's been scrubbed for the day - Been there done that.

Its well worth the ride to Cocoa Beach if it goes of the day they say but the weather pattern changes a lot .
We went to Cocoa Beach and parked in one of the street as the cost of parking can get expensive .
Macdonalds if you get there earlier enough you can have a meal and try and make it last as it is a good view from there.
Another place is across from the airforce base ,but again arrive early as free parking and you can walk on the beach and see it go .
Good luck

i watched the last launch from cocoa beach, 2am, and it was awful. there was low cloud cover, and so all you saw was a bright light in the sky, and a rumble from the engines!

I'd say you were better to visit the Nasa web site and book tickets in advance to be on the site.
