This year we were contemplating a cruise departing from Fort Lauderdale on 17/8/08. Has anyone got any ideas of places to stay beforehand as we were looking at flying to Miami around the 6/8. In the past we have stayed in villas in Orlando and wondered if a villa was a viable option. We have 4 children aged 13,11,8 and 4, so we need an area that suits a family. Can anyone help? We don't know that area at all!!
Many Thanks Mark and Tracy Cotton.

I have already answered your question about drive time in the other thread so staying in the Orlando area with everything that it can offer you and your children would seem like the perfect counterbalance to your cruise.

We have been on a number of cruises from Fort Lauderdale and when you book put a note here about the ship and itinerary and we may have some suggestions for shore trips to do and those to avoid.
