| Mmmmm...
Water Mania is no longer there but it's just before where it was and before the big orange. I'm just trying to think of some other landmark.
Ah, I know, just past Arabian Nights but on the other side of the 192.
Actually, you can get to it another way from Formosa. As you drive along the 192, there's a traffic light turning on the right with no other turnoffs and the road looks as if it goes nowhere, although it's fully made up - it's the first right turning after Angel's? (the seafood diner). The road does say something like 'road closed' but take no notice of that and go along it and you'll find signs for Celebration. You'll be aiming for the Market Street area as a first time visitor there so just follow the signs to that. | Blott www.orlandovillas.com/villas/150.aspx

| Celebration does celebrations really well which usually belie the fact that they're normally free. It's a place that's about as American as apple pie unless you want to go to theme parks - but then you pay to get in those!
Wherever you go, have fun but remember to get there early as most places are usually busy. | Blott www.orlandovillas.com/villas/150.aspx

| We like Downtown Kissimmee for the 4th of July. The whole of the grassed area next to the lake is taken over buy stalls and sideshows, there are also different stages where live music is performed. We love the whole American atmosphere and its free. In the evening there is a terific firework display over the lake. Parking can be a problem unless you get there about lunchtime and spend the afternoon and evening there, which we have done twice now. There is a free park and ride which opperates from Albertsons Supermarket on the John Young Parkway, just south of Highway 192.

| I was so happy to see someone had started a topic about Independence day in Orlando. I had planned to the whole trip to be in Orlando on the Fourth and, though it seems insane, we plan on braving IAO for their fireworks. My concern is traffic. Traffic is always bad and more so on holidays. I know we will be on the road with people who will have had a few drink and think they can drive. For this reason I had planned on taking a taxi to and from the park that day.
Other topics have suggested that the taxi services are available around or near the parks, so it should not be hard to find one, is this true? I have also read that that these taxi services can charge upwards of $60 for a15 to 18 mile trip. Is this more the exception or the rule. Our villa is only 21 miles from IOA, and spending nearly 200 round trip to be safe on the road seems ridiculous.
I was going to go to the park two days and use taxi round trip both times, (in my mind i guess) Another reason I wanted to use the taxi was i didn' want to navigate the highway, with the traffic, and figure out the lanes to the park, I hate it at six flags and I wanted to avoid that on vacation. Now the whole thing seems too outrageous to think about. I tip pretty well too, but I could do a lot of other things with 300 to 400 dollars. I could use a reality check here. Thanks
I am going to answer my own question here as i emailed a company and recieved a response. Should anyone do a search on Taxi, this should help anwser their question as well. This is the response I got:
A roundtrip price from Windwood Bay to Universal for your family of 4 will be $110.00 excluding driver gratuity. | Edited by - Lady Tass on 14 Apr 2008 02:26:28 | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

| | We have been there for the past few years and I love the way the Americans enter into the spirit of celebrating their Independence Day . I love the way whole families come out together ,three maybe even four generations ,they enjoy a family picnic together and best of all they dont need alchol to do so . This year we will miss it ,unless something wonderful happens between now and July and I can jump on a plane and be there . | Olive | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

| | We were in Magic Kingdom on 4th July some years back, we thought it would be really good but there was no mention of it, it was just like any other day. I would try Celebration another time. | Lyn | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

for someone making there third trip this must be a really dumb question, but where is celebration as we will be there for independance day as well
Unfortunately yes.
Celebration is on Highway 192 near Kissimmee. There's a shopping centre with a water tower with the name Celebration on it. Take that turning and keep going and you'll get to Celebration.
The following is the Celebration website, under 'Special Events' on the left hand side it gives some details of what will be happening on the 4th July

We tried to get into Magic Kingdom last year (around 5pm) on Independence Day but the car park was full, but the very helpful guy on the carpark ticket booth suggested we try Epcot and gave us a free parking voucher and a voucher for a half price meal, so we bombed it to Epcot and had a great night. Sat in the America zone to see the fireworks (which were great) and there were extra fireworks to celebrate the 4th, it was a great night and would recommend it......saying that I plan on being In Celebration this year | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

| I would also recommend the 4th July party in the the park near Lake Toho in Downtown Kissimmee (in the historic district near the junction with Orange Blossom Trail (17/92) and Vine St (the 192)) - they have a concert party and fireworks with events kicking off at 5pm. Admission is free and they put on shuttle busses.
Just do a google search for "kissimmee park 4th july" and you will find it. | http://www.onlinefloridavillas.com/florida-vacation-rental-3391.aspx | Edited by - Hutchy on 30 May 2008 12:52:53 | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |
