I've read quite a bit about Celebration on the forum (and seen some great photos!) and wondered whether it should be on our list of places to visit this August. If so, how do we find it and when's the best time to go in the day?

HI ALYSON
Celebration is well worth a visit there are some good restaurants also a STARBUCKS CAFE and in the middle of the village there is a large lake you can walk round .
So put it on your list to go .
It is on the HWY 192 in KISSIMMEE and is well signed posted so you will not miss it .

Hi Alyson.... its signposted just off the I-4 on the US192 and is well worth a walk round and has a nice cafe/restraunt on the lake front as well as a scrummy ice cream parlour. They often have local markets or craft fares on in the main street and it is worth checking out if one is on when you visit.

We love Celebration for breakfast, lunch or in the evening. It's a great place to spend a few hours amd has lots of lovely shops and places to eat. They even have their own website. You can read about all the different shops, the cinema or restaurants.

Hi Alyson,
Well worth a visit and a walk. The back of the first lake leads into a second lake and worth the walk to look at the lovely homes. Lovely little individual shops buy an ice cream and sit in a rocking chair overlooking the lake and watch the world go by.

We love to visit Celebration. Have a meal there in one of the restaurants. You can walk your meal off by strolling round the lakes or simply sit on a rocker in front of the lake and watch the world go by. There's some nice shops to look at too.
It's one of our favourite places - day or night

Hi Alyson

Yes we go to Celebration whenever we are out there - it's fantastic. Make sure you visit Sherlocks in Bloom Street. It's a great place for nice lunch or afternoon tea or coffee or why not sip a nice glass of wine on the patio. Mark & Penny the owners will make you really welcome.

Its well worth a visit or even several.
Also a drive round the streets to see the 'houses' just like a Disney lot but with real people.
The Cinema is also worth a visit too.
The CHurch is a picture and prpbably designed from one!

We try to go on a Sunday morning so that we catch the Farmers Market and then have lunch and a stroll.

Hey...Val..... dont forget to mention not to sit in the chairs with bare legs when they have been out in the sun all day... cos it dont half hurt....and dont feed the gators in the lake

It is so nice sitting out on the front early evening when the sun goes down...

Thanks for all your replies. It will definitely be on our list of places to visit. It sounds like a plan for one of our chill out days.

I really like Celebration and it is well worth a visit. Couple of nice restaurants there and it's beautifully designed.

I can't help but wonder what the people who live there think of all us tourists driving round ogling their homes. Last year we had to visit a Doctor (a quack, we decided) on the 192 who had a very gossipy and loud nurse. She spent most of her time with us complaining about the Beckhams who had apparently been there the week before but had left protesting that she was too unprofessional (can't help but agree with them). Anyway, the point of her story was that Goldenballs' father owned the biggest house in Celebration, so we spent an enjoyable half an hour or so driving round the area to find the biggest house we could in the hope that we could get a picture of us with the superhero.

We certainly found what we reckoned to be the biggest house, but there was nobody there, so we'll never know!

Sometimes I think we have no taste whatsoever, but hey, you only live once.

Check out the programme of events at the Celebration town center website as there's always something going on. When we were over in November they had a Fall festival on a Saturday evening that started at 5pm and was situated overlooking the lake and through the main area of the Market Place. The roads were closed off and there was a jazz band on a stage with room to dance, all the restaurants had gazebos set up up outside and were serving food and drink. We loved the paella and sangria that the Columbia were serving. There was entertainment for the children and horse and cart rides around the town. It finished off with a fantastic firework show that lasted 30 minutes! A wonderful night out.

I would also add that it you have young children, take a towel and swimming costumes, as they have a fantastic fountain there too, where the children love to stand and run under (weather permitting !)

Celebration has something for everyone . We love to go there for the July 4th celebrations . We mingle among the natives ,enjoy the music sample some "real American fare " like Funnel Cake and watch the terrific fireworks display which finishes off the wonderful evening . Other times we just go there for an evening stroll , its so peaceful.
