| It's good news that you don't have to wait long Julie, and once it is over, think of all the things you will be able to do that may have been difficult before.
Haven't you done well Sandra I hope there weren't too many tempting moments and no doubt your forthcoming trips helped to overcome any weak moments.
Hubby and I succumbed to a weak moment today. We went for a walk to the water meadows in Salisbury, but finished with a tea in one of our favourite teashops - Snells - who sell the most gorgeous cakes. I had a carrot cake with fresh cream topping and hubby a banana and white chocolate cheesecake - oops! We probably cancelled out all the good work walking | Brenda http://www.orlandovillarental.com/florida-vacation-rental-3197.aspx | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

| you have learned a valuable first lesson Brenda, recognise your weeknesses and work around them
you have four choices 1. walk another route so the temptation isn't there 2. walk the same route and tell yourselves that cake is ok but only once a month or once a week if you share it 3. do without completely and feel deprived which is not good at all so don't even go there 4. find a healthier alternative to the cake that you will both still enjoy and build that into your healthy eating plan
personally i think that if you forbid treats then they become an obsession, you resist for so long and then once you cannot resist any longer you give up having seen a slice of "forbidden" cake as a failure when it's not, building any treat in is the best thing to do as it takes away the on and off a diet mentality and puts you in control | Edited by - mizzy on 03 Jan 2008 22:15:23 | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

| Julie, pleased to hear you now have a date for your op. Hope all goes well for you.
Brenda - could you try taking some fruit with you on your walk and then eat a banana just before you get to then shop so you are not tempted by the cake!!
Had a good day yesterday, jumped on scales this morning and excess is nearly gone!! Yay!!
Have just had porridge for brekkie - weighed exact amount! and will have plenty of fruit during the day! We have friends over tonight but as we are eating here I am in control of what is cooked!! Planning a Spag Bol as they have young children who are harder to please than the adukts! My friend can't have cheese so the cheese board can stay put! Might do a fruit salad for pud - everyone likes that and I'm sure they will be feeling the excesses of Xmas too and be pleased I don't pull out yet another Xmas pud!!!!
Hope everyone has a good day! | Frances

| well done on the track suits Julie, chav!!!! you? never
i'm not a velour girl i'm afraid i have far too much cellulite, about enough for 3 women i reckon god i hate those full length mirrors in my dressing area, if they hadn't come with the house i would never have chosen them
i plan on getting to target in 08 and i'm under no illusions that it's not going to happen without hard work and commitment but the rewards will be worth it i'm going to need lots of spport and encouragement because i really really don't want to be fat and forty | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

| Hi everyone
Haven't caught up with everything yet.Page 4 already!
Julie I'm glad you have your op date, you certainly suffered enough last year. Hope it goes well for you.
Sandra you did really well - such a small gain for the Christmas festivities!
Pam - I'm sure it won't be too long til your next visit. No doubt you will have a new countdown as soon as you get back
Enjoy your hols Fiona & Janny.
I am trying to be really good now. Bought the new SW magazine lunchtime for some extra motivation.
Food diary so far today: Bowl of fresh fruit salad 2 slices of toast with baked beans. Lots of water. Chicken, couscous & veg planned for later.
Have managed to put on 3 1/2 lb since my last 'official weigh-in'
Hoping to start back at SW next week, but need to investigate whether there is an alternative class in our area as teenage son has a 12 Junior Chef's Course in Ipswich to go to - so I will have my taxi driver's hat on - and my old class time is right in the middle so I would only be able to weigh & go.
Hope everyone has a good day. | Ali | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

| Thanks for the advice - I hadn't thought of taking a snack with me but will definitely do so next time we go on a long walk.
I see a lot of people like porridge for breakfast. I do too but use the Oats so Simple brand with the flavours, honey or blueberry are my favourite. I am presuming this is OK?
A much better day today. Porridge for me and poached eggs on toast with grilled bacon for hubby. Lunch was just a sandwich and some fruit and this evening spinach and ricotta canneloni and salad followed by greek yoghurt for me and cheese and biscuits for hubby. Snacks for me have been some nuts and hubby, bananas.

| Well I said I would be back when I booked some flights and I just have
Not Florida as we don't know about DH job so we are having to cut back, but we all really need a holiday to look forward to so I have booked flights to Portugal 26th August - 9th September. £450 for all 5 of us from Southampton, just up the road from us .
Looking for a nice apartment now and have sent of some enquiries.
Had too much to eat today as my eldest daughter, Rachel 18 passed her driving test today, first time too so we had a lovely chinese to celebrate. | Edited by - Sally D on 04 Jan 2008 21:25:43 | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

| Mizzy Peter and I went to Albaferia(sp) many years ago, 1988 but we are looking to stay at Vilamoura this time, looks nice and have heard good things about it plus there are things for the girls to do, although they like the beach they won't want to spend everyday on it | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

| Had another good day yesterday!!
My plan for the evening worked fine. I didn't make a fruit salad in the end as I had a pavlova in the freezer I wanted to use up so I didn't have a pud! and I ignored the choccies as they were passed around!! I did have a piece of healthy eating garlic bread with my spaghetti Bolognese. As a vegetarian I made mine with soya so I could have plenty of pasta!!
I haven't had any bread (other than the piece of garlic bread last night) for threee days now and I'm sure it's better for me. Weighed this morning and I am nearly back to where I want to be. Hopefully all will be ok by Tuesday morning!
Have a good weeekend everyone! | Frances
