Our son in law is American but has lived in the UK for many years. He just LOVES root beer but says that there is nothing like the real thing, which you can't get over here!
Each trip we have to bring him a few bottles of A & W - which he savours by rationing himself to make it last to our next trip! (Luckily we do go quite often!)

I think root beer is like marmite - most Brits love marmite and Americans hate it - root beer the reverse! It's what you grow up on!

I've voted "don't know" because I've never tried it but I suspect I would fall into the yes category because I love the spice drop sweets that you can get from Wal Mart or Publix and one of them tastes of Wintergreen (germolene) yum! They are the only sweets that I bring back that I get chance to eat.

Yuk I hate it. The one and only time I tried it was when we went to the Catskill mountains about 17 years ago and I can feel that Germolene taste still.

I loooove root beer. I find it very depressing that it can't be bought in Ireland. I grew up in Canada and I have to say it's the only food stuff that I still miss.

You can buy it from americansodas.co we always have IBC which is the best, the sell A & W and bargs too.

I first tried root beer in Florida twenty years ago it was disgusting.I thought I would try again about three years ago.Guess what still wasn't for me, in fact I thought second time around it tasted more vile than the first.Will not being trying root beer ever again that's for sure.

I love Root Beer and I also like Dandelion and Burdock. Funnily enough I bought some Germlolene not too long ago and I don't think it smells the same as it used to, it's not as strong and not nearly as pink.
