We are due to go to Florida in April and want to visit Disney World. We want to avoid too many crowds so want to know if schools are closed in the month of April. When are the times to avoid Disney during April?

Thanks

The Easter school holidays would be a good time to avoid. Although Easter is in March in 2008, lots of schools are having mid-term breaks around this time.

Not sure about the US schools.

We are also going in April although late April into May; a great time for weather, some of the best we have seen.

I think that if you are going at a "peak school holiday" time, getting to the Parks early is a good idea.

Some days opening time is 8am, the rest of the time 9am.

For the more popular rides / attractions get a Fast Pass ticket ( plan what you want to see and do before you go) saves a lot of queueing if the park is really busy.

Schools in West Sussex are closed from the 4th - 21st April 08 and I think several other counties in the South are doing this. Therefore, if you are flexible and want to go at a quieter time maybe the end of April would suit you best when all the UK holidays are over. I was in Florida at the end of April this year and the weather was gorgeous.

Dawn is right, as these dates also apply in Hampshire. End of April into May is a good time and should be less busy than during school holiday time. Be aware though that some british schools' half term is in the latter part of May.

Yes, I was thinking that the latter part of April will be better as UK schools are off from around 4th April for 2 weeks, this would mean British tourists taking their children to the parks.

Is there any way of finding out when the US schools have their breaks?

Thanks

Not really as spring break starts in March and is spread over at least six weeks, if not more, depending on where in the huge US the school is located.

In the latter part of May, you get into the summer break for the local schools in the Orlando area.

So, as late as possible in April and before about the third week in May should be less crowded.

Is April 20 late enough... that is when we are planning to travel to Orlando and we would like to miss the big crowds.
