I used this site last year when booking our Florida villa and I remember a list that you could go into and it was a map of the Kissimmee/Davenport area showing all the main roads and the villa communities were all marked on this map so that you could see locations at a glance.
Where did this go or how can I find it. Looking to start booking up for next year and it would be helpful again!

Thanks all

Just noticed that Silver Creek is in the wrong place and Clear Creek isn't on at all. Next to number 62 (Woodridge) travelling away from the US27 should be Clear Creek then Silver Creek. They are both accessed from the Woodridge estate.

Christine, there are several errors on the OV map but then I haven't found our communities in the right place on any map so far. The Orlando guide books are the worst. To be fair, the OV map is the closest.

On the OV map Sandy Ridge is no.66 and shown on the wrong side of the CR532 (the road from Champions Gate). I have never heard of Robbins Rest no.76 that's shown next to 66. That is part of Reunion (The Terraces at Reunion). Thousand Oaks no.1 also appears to be in the wrong place, as when we come out of the back entrance to Sandy Ridge and turn right there is an entrance to Thousand Oaks on the other side of the road. When we continue along that road towards the CR532 Lake Wilson Preserve is on our right. This again is not correct on the map as it's shown off the continuation of Old Lake Wilson Rd, it should be on the next road over, this road isn't shown on the map. Terrace Ridge is not marked but is off the continuation of Old Lake Wilson Rd, so it is actually where Lake Wilson Preserve is shown! Although these communities are in roughly the right place there are inaccuracies. Perhaps other owners should check their locations are shown in the correct places?

Just to point out that our map has never been intended to be exact - it's more a representation of the communities so guests can see at a glance roughly where somewhere is. To show each community in it's exact location, the map would have to be a lot bigger as some are close to each other and we just cannot get the numbers that represent the communities that close without them overlapping.

Thousand Oaks main entrance in on the CR54 and this is correct on the map. Robbins Rest is on Old Lake Wilson Road.

Perhaps there should be a note on the map pointing this out ?
As I said it's the most accurate community map I've come accross. The explosion of development in the area over the last couple of years has meant that map makers have had a hard time keeping up. This is not helpful for guests and can cause problems.

For example, guests searching for villas often try to find them on the popular Google Earth. I've just looked for our homes and all that's shown is bare earth and the start of the road infrastructure. This means that this map is 3 to 4 years out of date! If guests are using maps like this to verify the home they're thinking of renting actually exists, then this is a totally unreliable method. At least by renting homes through the sites on here, they know that each home is verified every 6 months and can book with confidence

There already is - granted, it's a bit subtle but it's been there since the map was first put on the site.

The problem is that if we put a note explaining it as above, people just won't read it and so it would be pointless anyway. Once people see the map on the page, their focus goes straight to it and they won't read any smallprint at the bottom of the page.

I think that's the whole point that the homes on OV are verified and potential guests can book with confidence knowing that the home is owned by the person who is advertising it. The OV map is just a bit of 'icing on the cake' to that verification to show the main roads and the location of communities.

Like Topsy the map, from a small beginning, just growed with more and more communities added as they were built. So much so that there's not more room on it to get communities in absolute correct places any longer, particularly as they're all linked to the legend and then to the community pages. All the advertisers have helped with the map over the years and it's as accurate as we and John could get it, given the space constraints.

The map is probably more helpful to first time visitors to Florida who may have no idea at all of where communities are located. If potential guests need more info about a community, there's usually a community description page which they can view and which is linked to the map legend.

Hi
We booked our villa at Sandy Ridge last year.
4 weeks and 2 days to go
We use Google earth a lot when planning our holiday, even though it is not up to date.
I had a look yesterday and the villas are now showing up.....looks like a nice area.....
Its a few years since we stayed in that area, I cant believe the amount of changes ! The images must be about 3 years old, so im sure there will even more changes.

I noticed when you turn left out of Sandy ridge onto the Osceola polk line road, travelling towards Champions gate, there looks like there are some shops at ? Reunion on the right hand side, does anyone know what they are?
Also Im sure I read they were building another Publix in this area.
